The Blues have played a couple more games than everybody they're chasing or being chased by...

Seattle is one point behind and have played four less games.

I just don't see the Blues making a run and I think the Hawks drop will drop to the bottom of the division.

Do you like playing the lottery?
The Blues have shown no ability to put a few wins together however if they remain somewhat close and get healthy in January who knows maybe they can make it interesting

So far, Schenn is too diminished, Buch isnt producing, Holloway cant stay healthy, Dvorsky hasnt produced much, Kyrou wasnt lighting it up. For me its a lot about the guys who are being paid to produce, they arent.

If this team picks top ten then this season is a complete disaster....one of their worst on record.
Are you jelly that blues have high end talented ypu players then may get a top 3 stud as well.
This team was horrid from the beginning with little to no cap space left. That's inexcusable no matter how you slice it.

Look at where the Hawks and Blues were predicted to end up compared to where they are today.
A ton of people / 'experts' had them missing the playoffs which is where they are today, what are you getting at?

And you haven't even mentioned the defense. Parayko is a bit fat 0 on offense this year. 15 goals last year, 0 this year and -10 to boot. And he's the top blue liner! I'm guessing he must be playing through injury?

or better yet
Keaton Verhoeff big RHD
or
Tynan Lawrence big Center

all three would be great picks.

smellyazzz eat your heart out
Im not sure if you are saying tynan is big in stature or skill but he is listed 6ft 185. I agree he has big skill if thats what you mean. Only high ranked true center i believe.

Ethan belchetz 6ft5. 230ish lbs winger.

Ryan roobroeck 6ft4 215ish. Listed c/w.
I was in the Roobroeck train to start the year. Big boy who can skate, plays hard and snipe. He reminded me a little bit of Jamie Benn in his prime (without the playing on the edge and fighting aspect, but the goal scoring and play driving aspect).

But he was weeks away from being drafted last year and hasn't really taken a step forward this year.

I'm on the Stenberg train, can't wait to see him at the WJCs.

Would you rather go Verhoeff or Lawrence
For now, Lawrence. I would take him first.

I’m sure this team will screw up and draft 14th.

Its not joseph.

Does anyone realize that we only have one + player on the team.....and it is Joseph. And so many complained about him preseason.
He is not a finisher but he can sure stir up things.

So for this thread let's hope Otto Stenberg is the real deal and we start to see a new core emerge with Dvorsky, Mailloux and Stenberg and Broberg, aong other new arrivals

The condensed schedule helping the younger teams and your goalie is playing way over his ability.

The Hawks will be dead last by the time Bedard comes back. Nice blown lead tonight with 2 goals against in 8 seconds with just over 2 minutes left…..ouch!

Oh i agree with you. It would also be great if this was a one off season and we were heavily rewarded for it. Maybe next year the entire team starts hot instead of cold. I just thought it was humorous to hear rivers say “you are only 4 points out of a playoff spot” while others are saying they are not talented enough.

Not sure if you're saying this will be their "worst season on record" or if you mean "most disappointing season relative to expectations on record", but if it's the latter, I agree 100%. By that measure, this season is an unmitigated disaster. It's hard to find one thing good that's come out of this season, besides a few young players getting some NHL ice team (none of whom have blown my socks off, however).

Our goaltending has sucked, we lost Colton Ellis (so the future of our goaltending got significantly more muddied), our "good" players aren't NEARLY good enough, we have a lot more evidence that Buch's contract is looking very, very bad, Fowler and 55 seem to have taken a step back, Mailloux is a longer-term project than we're hoping, neither Kessel nor Tucker have taken a step forward, Snuggs never really clicked before he got hurt, the team doesn't play like it cares, we were expected to challenge for top 3 in the Central and we're competing for top 3 worst teams...yes, this might be the "most disappointing" season on record.

I'm having trouble seeing the green shoots for the future. Broberg has been decent. Dvo showing that he can eventually be a good player, but I'd like to see more out of him. Mailloux is definitely showing signs of life, I'll be interested to see where he is a couple of years from now. And we have some prospects playing well in the minors and Jr's. But still, I'm not seeing a clear path to this team being a contender again.

Beyond that, I've thought that Schenn has at least played like he cares, and Faulk is having a good season, but they are both likely trade bait and the leadership hole will be a mile deep when they are traded. Schenn is a culture-carrier for the Blues, who will step up when he's gone? At least Steen will still be here (I think of him as a culture-carrier for the franchise as well).

Ok rant over... probably should go do some work....

The funny thing is, the "retool" seemed like it was actually going really, really well, and then the wheels just COMPLETELY fell off unexpectedly. All four of them at the same time. One of them bounced across the road and killed an old lady, I heard.
