Liberation Day finally!

Post by hdhntr148 »

You all know how Uber critical I was of Kirby Moore last two years and for good reason. He was simply predictable, a coward who refused to call go routes and let defenses load up the box to stifle running game and didn't make them pay by passing around them.

Now MU will have a much better chance of beating the big brands as you simply can't beat superior talent by being a coward or adjusting to what they were doing.

Go MU FB lets see who Eli hires. one thing is certain with his new contract he has the money to hire the best available candidate.

(The offense was Drink's scheme...Majic's quote)

Gabe DeArmond:

The question will be just how much freedom the OC has to run his own system. Will Drinkwitz go out and start all over with someone who comes in with his own ideas and own system? Will he stay internal or hire someone he's worked with in the past to more or less continue running what Mizzou has been running since he arrived before the 2020 season? Remember, Drinkwitz was his own offensive coordinator and play caller in his first three seasons at Missouri. While Moore has been in charge the last three seasons, Drinkwitz's fingerprints are still certainly part of the offense.

Old Gabe doesn't know anymore about the offense than I do.

Yeah I saw the podcast and of course our resident loser in the above post failed to mention another Gabe "quote" about the poor quality of QB play being the biggest factor.

Well just who coaches the QBs and works closest with them?

It sure as he'll isnt Drinkwitz, otherwise why is Moore one of the highest paid coordinators in the country?

Moore wouldn't have been hired as a head coach if he was a lackey for another head coach. If you've been around the game you would know that and I have.

Somehow he justified that "good reason" for his Uber criticism.

It was because of his failure to never be more than a JV coach at a small high school.

Agree we can’t just pass off the offense on Drinkwitz with his thumb on Moore the past 3 seasons. Even if Drinkwitz has been too involved by HC / OC standards, Moore has still been responsible for the offense and has been calling the plays.

And for the Moore defenders, the offense hasn’t been a failure. Against weak competition we run it down their throat and the passing game has been adequate. The passing game has been ok against not so good competition but most of the time really bad against top competition.

I think that’s what this is all about. To get to the mountain top, we have to be able to compete in the passing game at a high level, along with a strong running game. While maintaining a strong defense and special teams. Drink has done a nice job building this thing, but it’s as simple as this: fix the deficiencies or we won’t get where everyone wants to be. That starts with a fantastic OC.

Well some folks can't help being hypocrites.

If Drinkwitz is responsible for Moore then he must be responsible for Batoon as well right?

He made a change when it wasn't working Wilks. My guess is Moore woukd have been replaced had he not gotten another job.

As a young head coach you have to adapt and grow.

Hopefully this will occurc with the offense as it has with defense.

Losing Moore for some of us is half the battle.

Now you have to replace Moore......the other half.

There's nothing automatic about it.

At least the new guy shouldn't have to prepare three separate QBs to make their first college start.
