Re: Blues Announcers
I thought the broadcast was fine last night which probably references how (bleep) the local team is.

Re: Blues Announcers
Yeah it was nice to know there was a hockey game going on.
The interview with Chase was great and a nice touch by ESPN. You could tell Chase got the juices flowing from his old broadcast days as the interview went along.
Re: Blues Announcers
For you Lexie fans:
Jim Hayes is about to see his role on Cardinals broadcasts shrink considerably.
FanDuel Sports Network is overhauling how it handles pregame and postgame coverage across its regional footprint, and according to Dan Caesar of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, that means Hayes will work fewer games next season while Alexa Datt picks up more.

+1 It was long but it is Chaser. Anybody else I would not have liked it. I'll take all the Chase they want to put on- not just because of what he is going through but because he seems to be a genuine good guy. Don't know him- just my impression.11WSChamps wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 08:37 amYeah it was nice to know there was a hockey game going on.

Had no ida he did broadcasting work!brianstlou2 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 23:41 pm Anyone remember Rick Meagher? He was the absolute worst for me. Or maybe he was just the sideline reporter but he was just as bad as Ramage.
I remember his TV spots: "We put the check — [BOOM!] — back in the Checkerdome!"
Re: Blues Announcers
That was Emile Francis who did those commercials. He did those in 82 and 83. Meagher didn't come to the Blues until 1985.blues2112 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 16:36 pmHad no ida he did broadcasting work!brianstlou2 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 23:41 pm Anyone remember Rick Meagher? Re: Blues Announcers
The announcers on ESPN did good. We didnt have to listen to listen to those two ramble on about a random topic.
Re: Blues Announcers
Great catch, zuck! My memory was wrong. Was conflating that ad with a Calgary game (powerhouse back then) in which I saw live Meagher absolutely drill one of their best players into the glass on a back check. Then again, that memory might be wrong!zuck698 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 16:49 pmThat was Emile Francis who did those commercials. He did those in 82 and 83. You're at least one step better than me. I write stuff down, then forget where I put the paper!zuck698 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 17:14 pmblues2112 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 17:09 pmGreat catch, zuck! Re: Blues Announcers
I can't wait until they bring back a TV broadcast because I'm sick of hearing all the crying. Kerbs and Joey are great on the radio, I have zero problems with how they call a game.
Kerbs had the greatest call, for the greatest moment in Blues history.
Full Stop.
Screw anything else called by anyone. Perfection.

Kerbs and Joey on the second greatest call. Again Perfection.

"Get up, St. Louis!"
"This is not a dream!"
Truly, TAFKAP, first I've heard these. Watched game on TV.
Two pucks for the links!
Re: Blues Announcers
Again, thanks for the link. I'd never seen the video of the Maroon call. So for real, I've worked nights for 20+ years at this point. I listen to 90% of the Blues broadcasts on radio so for the last 20 years Kerbs is the voice of the Blues to me. When it got down to the last 5 minutes of Game 7, my EXTREMELY drunk (donkey) (I told everyone who joined us win or lose, the night ends with me crying in my beer) had the forethought to run upstairs and grab my phone so i could hear Kerbs call the end. I'm in my basement, holding on to the couch so I don't fall over, one ear listening to the radio, watching the broadcast, friends and family surrounding me, bawling my eyes out. It was magical.
Re: Blues Announcers
You're welcome. The KMOX video is getting harder to find, I have to get my kids to show me how to rip it.blues2112 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 19:38 pm100 percent!TAFKAP wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 18:49 pm I can't wait until they bring back a TV broadcast because I'm sick of hearing all the crying. I love Joey with "This is not a dream St. Louis, let's party!!!"
There used to be a store in Kirkwood on Manchester that had a lot of handmade Etsy type stuff. Someone had a canvas for sale, it was ridiculously expensive, but it was the outline of the Cup made up of the transcript of the end of that Kerber call. I wish I'd have had the cash.
