Which OC we calling….
The normal names will get called out like Petrino, Chip Kelly, Jerry Neuheisel, etc…. but my first call is to Eric Beiniemy. During practice they could give him a few more chances to score from the goal line and keep calling it third down.

Chase Daniel!
Re: Which OC we calling….
hmmm….Brees used to say he was the first guy in the film room and last guy to leave so he may have what it takes. I would rather him start learning the trade somewhere else then come home to Mizzou vs starting here though.

No Brainer. Jacob Peeler . Was OC at Texas State. Will work with Drink as Drink like all HC become Omnipotent so if he goes out and gets a splashy name they will never be on the same page. If he does go outside of his staff then it should be a young coach. As Drink will want his Footprint no matter who he hires.

I want Drink to grow into the CEO role and really take this program to the next level like Saban did. Even Saban understood the importance of strong OC and DC’s. He always had top notch coordinators and more or less let them do their jobs. And nobody was more of a control freak than Saban.

1000% this. Now more than ever in the NIL/transfer age.Armchair QB wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 08:44 am I want Drink to grow into the CEO role and really take this program to the next level like Saban did. I just hope ego doesn't get in Drinkwitz way here with this hire.
He has a highly sought after recruited QB in Zollers with a high ceiling and he needs coaching and a head coach in this college landscape simply doesn't have time to be the primary teacher.
You have to trust in your ability to not only hire the right coach as a coordinator but someone who can challenge you and help you grow as a head coach.
He's done that with Batoon and now its time to do the same with the offense.
The passing offense needs a total overhaul otherwise in two years we'll be looking for another head coach and starting all over again.

Drink will hire whoever he wants, as long as he keeps the laminated offensive play cards in his hands on game day with a mic to the QB, and tells the OC what new variations of wide receiver screens and 3 yard in routes to plan and call 90% of the time.

This is a critical hire considering maximizing Zollers' talent.11WSChamps wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 11:00 am I just hope ego doesn't get in Drinkwitz way here with this hire.

Don't forget the 1-yard rollout passes to Norfleet.Mizzoufan443 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 11:33 am Drink will hire whoever he wants, as long as he keeps the laminated offensive play cards in his hands on game day with a mic to the QB, and tells the OC what new variations of wide receiver screens and 3 yard in routes to plan and call 90% of the time.

You are dead on! Here was Saban’s staff in 2015….Armchair QB wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 08:44 am I want Drink to grow into the CEO role and really take this program to the next level like Saban did. Saban - HC
Lane Kiffin - OC (LSU)
Kirby Smart - DC (Georgia)
Mark Cristobal - OL coach (Miami)
Billy Napier - WR Coach (James Madison)
Mel Tucker - DB Coach (Michigan State)
Dan Lanning - RB Coach (Oregon)
Four of these are in the CFP and one is in the running for the Michigan job.

That’s just unbelievable. Might be the best coaching staff in history. Of course, on field performance was great as well. Great coaching is critical.rezero wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 13:10 pmYou are dead on! Yeah, coaching, I think, is more critical in football than any other pro sport. It's a complex game and requires master strategists. And Drinkwitz is not a master offensive strategist. He needs to bring in a seasoned, proven OC and let him work. Just like Corey Batoon with the defense.Armchair QB wrote: ↑13 Dec 2025 14:16 pmThat’s just unbelievable.
