Donovan destination from his perspective
I love Donny's baseball and he seems like quite a nice young man with family.
I really want him to end up in a situation that is good for HIM AND HIS FAMILY.
Not the Colorado Rockies, for instance.
Would be nice if he landed with a winner organization with a real chance at a WS ring.
Pretty sure all here on CT would agree, right?

If there’s one factor that makes a great family it’s a WS Ring…82birds wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 10:57 am I love Donny's baseball and he seems like quite a nice young man with family.

Nope. Don't give a [shirt]. I worry about what's best for the Cards82birds wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 10:57 am I love Donny's baseball and he seems like quite a nice young man with family.

Nothing you posted indicated a positive towards the Cards. In fact, quite a negative...implied by "Would be nice if he landed with a winner organization..."82birds wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 12:28 pmgood for the Cards was implied. Denver's great. He could hit 40 doubles and 15+ HRs in that park. If the Rockies offer the best return, that's where he should go. He can sign anyplace that wants him in two years. Playing in Denver could make himself a lot of money come FA.

And the good news it it's contenders vying for him, not Rockies types!
(But having lived in Denver I can tell you it's AWESOME)

Good post. Donnie deserves all the love he gets from the Lou, and I wish him well wherever it is. Hopefully a great team culture and a winner.

Is there truly a "bad" destination for a professional baseball player, who is able to provide for his family better than 98% of Americans?
And, by the way. The Boulder / Denver area is a fabulous place to raise a family. So yea, even The Rockies would be good for him and his family.
