Joseph has been busting his butt and playing a two way game.
Agreed but that still doesn't mean he should be anywhere near that position even with injuries. He's a 4th line guy. If he's playing more than that, you are a lottery team.

A lot of people here (not you at all) keep talking about how the Blues have so much more talent than their record shows, but the lineups being trotted out there reflect the true reality.

In order to score goals, you need to have the puck.

If you don't have the puck, you need to acquire it from the opposition.

In order to acquire it from the opposition, you need to hunt it down and strip it away.

Then you have the puck. Then you can get it to the linemates who can set up the offense.

If you are having issues getting around a trap defensive scheme, it's because your skilled players can't pass or skate through the scheme. So you have to chip it in and retrieve it.

In both scenarios, you need someone on the line that can hunt down pucks.

Joseph hunts down pucks.

This isn't a line full of Joseph type players - they're simply adding a hunter.

What I like about Joseph is he is bringing the effort and is not afraid to shoot- and to my eyes his skillset is improving- especially with more minutes. I'm glad he is getting a chance.

Per 101, Vitale. Fabbri will wear #9.

Let's hope the ghost of Doug Gilmour comes out and not Denny Felsner.

At least he can hit the back of the net from time to time still.

Miami, I understand your frustration, but hotrivets and Goldblum make legit points.

Specific to Joseph, in straightaways, he pulls away from opposition ala Perry Anderson and Magnus Paaaraaivijiaajivi (with equivalent results). :) Truly, at least he plays with some heart and emotion.

That's why they signed Fabbri. He'll be on Thomas' wing before you know it.

Fabbri was a puck hound and an emotional leader type guy when he was young. He reminds me a lot of being the same type of competitor that Perron is for example.

I will always have a soft spot for what I think his career here could have been without those knee injuries. I always thought he reminded me of Schwartz with more emotion and skill, he did have a good game relative to everyone else last night though which is a little concerning.

Hopefully the rest of the team understood why he made that statement.

Yes.
And after you quit and dump the puck, don't just lazily skate to the bench for a change with an exasperated look. It's a constant surrender of puck possession. The "giveaways vs takeaways" stat is meaningless. Maybe we should track "quit vs protect/pursue?"

It was the only name I heard during the play by play.
