Lot of blame to go around
But I think Army has to step down.
Blame who you want but he put this whole thing together and it’s not even close to working.

Blame Recipient #1:
Army and the Scouts and Pro Personnel that supply his talent assessments.
When the TOP5 picks arrive, we need experts that can discern top end talent accurately. We don't need a younger Mailloux and a younger Buchnevich.

Why is the word "top" always capitalized?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 07:45 am Blame Recipient #1:

Re: Lot of blame to go around
We desperately need A solid #5 d on the left side, I just can't wrap my head around why we have not addressed that.

We actually need a #2 LD then Fowler becomes the #3LD full time and that’s if the current plan is to stay the course which it shouldn’t be any longer.

While I'm flattered you seek my attention, I'm not looking for anything at this moment. It's not you, it's me. Sorry..a smell of green grass wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 08:07 amTo get your attention. What if Army knew the team was one high skilled draft pick away from being a strong contender? What if the front office doesn't even see this as a problem? You can draft or buy talent.
Re: Lot of blame to go around
Well sure that would be even better but I don't think its necessary to be a pretty solid team.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 08:49 amWe actually need a #2 LD then Fowler becomes the #3LD full time and that’s if the current plan is to stay the course which it shouldn’t be any longer.
I wouldn't be against a long term solution there but that is something that may not be available or make sense for us right now(its a bigger more complicated move) so I get it if we can't make that happen right away but its plum silly we are not getting something done in that spot.
Re: Lot of blame to go around
Same ol song n dance what about scoring still lacking a top 6 forward or 2.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 08:49 amWe actually need a #2 LD then Fowler becomes the #3LD full time and that’s if the current plan is to stay the course which it shouldn’t be any longer.
Re: Lot of blame to go around
Two years from now is this a top 9 we can win/compete with it?(obviously not being able to identify a 3C is an issue):
Neighbours-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-Dvorsky-Carbonneau
Stenberg-???-Buchnevich
Same on D can we win/compete with this in two years:
Broberg-CP
Lindstein-Mailloux
Fowler-Jiricek
Which of the two groupings has more questions marks would you say?
Neighbours-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-Dvorsky-Carbonneau
Stenberg-???-Buchnevich
Same on D can we win/compete with this in two years:
Broberg-CP
Lindstein-Mailloux
Fowler-Jiricek

Re: Lot of blame to go around
Well I’m sure there is more than one move coming but not sure you are getting that forward without giving up someone of significance . The Blues young forwards have to step up but they still need time to develop as well. Doesn’t help that Snuggerud is out.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 09:34 amSame ol song n dance what about scoring still lacking a top 6 forward or 2.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 08:49 amWe actually need a #2 LD then Fowler becomes the #3LD full time and that’s if the current plan is to stay the course which it shouldn’t be any longer.

I think the forward group is fine, I don't think its a big deal to not know who your 3c is years in advance.LGB73 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 09:44 am Two years from now is this a top 9 we can win/compete with it?(obviously not being able to identify a 3C is an issue):

Re: Lot of blame to go around
That forward group can’t/won’t win. It lacks any sort of grit and size necessary to compete, outside of Holloway and Jake, who are both middleweights. There is zero team toughness on that entire roster. Come playoff time, they would get run out of 99% of the buildings.LGB73 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 09:44 am Two years from now is this a top 9 we can win/compete with it?(obviously not being able to identify a 3C is an issue):

They lack a big center in their top 9. Think Lowry, Backes in his day, Scheifle, McTavish, Strome, etc…. It’s amazing what a big bodied center like Faksa brought to this team in his one season. They also need size, speed and grit on the wings. Where are the Barbashev, Sherwood, Oshie, etc… type players in our system? The answer is that they aren’t there other than maybe Pekarcik.
And the same on D. Butter soft. And I’m not talking about fighting, they lack team toughness now and in the system. Gonna be a soft team for years to come, which is sad. That has NEVER been the Blues motto.

skilles wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 09:54 amI have a little more hope for than group than you do. The four yound defenseman listed are all first round picks and should be pretty solid in a few years. Hopefully Fischer or Ralph can grow into a 5-7 role. Pretty good size back there as well. Other than Lindstein, those guys are all at or pushing 6'3LGB73 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025 09:44 am Two years from now is this a top 9 we can win/compete with it?(obviously not being able to identify a 3C is an issue):
