I like Fabbri with Dvorsky who knows he may stick there
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
I wonder why Tucker and Mailloux are back together again. Hopefully they'll be better than before.
What's the over/under on their minutes? 11 minutes?

Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
The line on the game tonight is 5.5 goals. Monty has money on the over. He knows we will get our 2, but with 75 and 23 together, this assures that the Preds will at least get their 4.
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
My guess we need to have a solid top 4 which doesn't include either guy at this point. Both guys got short time with more experienced players and the staff is hoping that translates to more responsible play together. If they're paired together though they need 14-15 minutes to not burn out the other pairings.

I’m guessing Monty is sick of the lack of chemistry on defense. Going back to the pairs that played well together last year before he started tinkering. Faulk and Broberg are good together. And I’ll take the under on the 3rd pair.

Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
to me it's the biggest failure for this team. People are saying the Fowler extension is a bust. How is it a bust? Fowler and Parayko were top tier. Faulk and Broberg were top. It's not their fault they have asked Faulk and Fowler to try and carry AHL level players. I'm fine with Mailloux, he has looked somewhat better by the eye test but he's still taking extended shifts and giving up goals.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 15:17 pmI’m guessing Monty is sick of the lack of chemistry on defense. Tucker and Kessel are 7th person defenders. Throw them in there every once in a while, but not every day guys. The failure to acquire a solid vet to pair with Mailloux or go all in and trade for a young guy and sacrifice some offense is astounding. Not only are we not scoring goals, you are punishing good players by playing them with dummies.

This is a must-win for the Blues. Unfortunately, the Preds have Stamkos and ROR, and both of them are auditioning for a new job.
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
Yes, this is what I've been calling for. Fowler-Parayko.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 15:17 pmI’m guessing Monty is sick of the lack of chemistry on defense. Broberg-Faulk is good with me, and it locks the top-4 they go to anyways late in the game. Mailloux has proven enough to be with Tucker the whole game, making it a pretty tough 3rd pair. If Mailloux can simply be a Bortz this season, I'm good. Fabbri needs to take him out one night and have Bortz and Steen join them.
Wait a second. I haven't even talked about the real shocker of this lineup. Fabbri signs and joins the 3rd line next to Dvo on the road in Nashville!
Yeah yeah, I know, he's washed up, Army is dumpster diving to salvage a lost season... but I don't care. He is a heck of a hockey player when he's in the lineup. I remember watching his first goal, might've been the only opening night game I've gone to...Lehtera with a sweet behind the back pass to a trailing Fabbri (his and McDavid's first NHL game)...
Maybe he clicks with Dvorsky. If he's in shape and gets up to speed, he oughtta play with Thomas.
Go get'em 4th line...

Fabbri needs Joel Edmundson back. Do another skit of riding in a car together.

fabbri was at .50 ppg last year which isn't terrible. in fact he's done that the last 5 seasons. So he proves to be able to get on the scoreboard every other game on average. But the killer is the most games he's ever gotten to since the injury is 68. Hopefully he has a spark for the boys, and he can survive long enough to allow people to come back.zamadoo wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 15:53 pmYes, this is what I've been calling for. I said it in another thread, when he first came up with the Blues, he was quickly one of my favorites. Around that time it was Schwartz and Fabbri. Fabbri was super exciting to watch as a player. He was just a different style of player than the other guys wearing the note at the time.
