I would take a game at Jacksonville over a game in Nashville at the end of December every time
Sure, even though Jax isn't among the most scenic Florida cities. Warmer is better.

The bowl games have become mostly a joke. I think that when possible they should try to make regional match ups that would appeal to a wider fan base. Virginia is a decent team but they don't move the needle like Illinois, Nebraska or even Iowa would have. I'll still watch because I'm a fan but they just don't mean much.

Agreed.

Virginia doesn't move the needle for me.

Illinois would have been ideal.

If you're watching on TV a game vs IL is "better". If you're traveling to a bowl game, I'd choose JAX.
I wonder, will VA be p.o.'d that they blew a CFP bid & want to take it out on Mizzou or will they be as pathetic as they were vs a 6-5 Duke. They failed with a bid on the line to the CFP. Like Mizzou, those chances don't come to VA often. You'd think, that was their best effort.

ND was supposed to be the opponent per bowl contract, but ND declined and quit for the year. Sources have suggested ND did not want to see their star get stuffed by MU D and then Hardy running through their backfield.

Wonder which ACC team we’ll get?
Virginia.

We don't agree on a lot but on this I'm with you.

ND thinks it's the 1980's.

They are becoming more irrelevant each and every year.

You might want to check your definition of irrelevant. ND played in the National Championship Game in January. If that’s becoming increasingly irrelevant, I hope we become that irrelevant.

ND would have absolutely throttled us!

Either this isn't an issue, or you singled out the wrong team.

Because Mizzou is a 7 point favorite.

If Virginia shows up.

Stop by Sawgrass late Sunday morning after the game, and I'll let you know.

ANY win over KU IS a big win. Mizzou coaches have lost their jobs for not beating KU. We’ve had years with big wins over the likes of Alabama, USC, Ohio State, etc where we’ve lost to KU. The sting of losing to KU hurt far more than the joy felt in beating those schools.

The Gator Bowl was at one time the top bowl after the Big 4.

It's still a big bowl destination even though it's been pushed down the ladder by the playoffs and games in Orlando and Tampa. I've seen good games and had good times there. I saw Georgia beat Penn State. The last three winners are big-time--Ole Miss, Clemson, and Notre Dame.

What was its standing in 1968, when a Missouri team with a similar record went to Jacksonville and took Alabama behind the woodshed?
