Here is Baseball America's scouting report on their pick for Cardinals at 13th (just released after draft order selected )

Tyler Spangler HS SS De LaSalle HS Concord, Ca .

Committed: Stanford

Spangler has a tall, lean build with high-end strength projection and an accurate barrel from the left side. He’s a long-limbed hitter who is able to make contact at a high clip, with quiet hands that he fires quickly into a compact, direct swing with a mature approach for his age. It’s an easy swing from Spangler, who already delivers consistent quality contact, with the bat speed and physical upside to project above-average-or-better power once he’s in his prime. He’s an above-average runner with good lateral agility and body control at shortstop for his size. Depending on his physical development, there’s a chance he could outgrow the position and go to third base, but his fluid actions, soft hands, strong arm and instincts all fit well at shortstop.

Another profile on Spangler :
Player: Tyler Spangler
School: De La Salle (CA) Position(s): SS/3B
Height: 6’4″ Weight: 190 lbs. Bats: Left Throws: Right
Summary: The polish really stands out for Spangler, as he has a smooth, simple swing from the left side and generates plenty of bat speed. His ability to get the bat to ball is just about as good as any in the class, and there is a ton of power projection left. He currently does the most damage to the pull side where the natural loft in the swing allows him to lift the ball to right, there is projection in the frame making it easy to put above-average or better power potential grades. He has solid wheels on the bases and it gives him enough range for short, where he has really good hands and stays low on grounders despite his bigger frame. He should enter pro ball as a shortstop, but there is a real chance he grows to the point third base is in his future. There he has enough arm to be a solid defender, and the power profile works just fine.

He isn't even on the mock draft graphics you shared.

A second Liam (Peterson) wouldn't be bad by the looks of it, if he's still there at 13.
MLB.com has Hacopian 16th on their draft board. Look up his Maryland stats....he was insane. He duplicates that at A&M this spring, then he's Top 10 pick, and we won't have a chance at him.

Hacopian, Gracia, or Reese...we should be able to get 1 of the 3

Seems to me that a lot can happen between now and July for us to be spending too much time in December guessing who we can and should draft.

Good news! We can now watch 2 more seasons of awful baseball and be lottery eligible in both of the next 2 draft lotteries.

Punctured Lung in the regionals cost Yesavage around 10 spots. Great get by the Jays

This was the silver lining for me. I expect the Cards to lose 90+ games.
Such a beacon of shining light!
I'll take that bet.

I liked watching Gracia's swing the other night. He looks like he could be an Andre Ethier type.

those are my 3 favorites entering the spring. Gracia gets on base at an incredible clip. New school this year, but with the same Head Coach. He and half of the Blue Devil team followed the Head Coach to Virginia

We did the absolute worst we could have in this lottery, right?

It totally would have been better to win the lottery this year than to be eligible for it next year. If we'd won it now, then we'd be guaranteed like 10th or 11th next year right, which is still better on balance than 13th plus a shot to maybe win it?

Tankathon with its simulated draft had usually two teams from behind the 3 punished teams leapfrogging us and pushing us behind those three can/t play the lotto teams, I just simulated 2026 and again we went from 8th to 13th, It's unlucky I tells ya.

Yes, of course.
There is zero significance to drafting 13th, or 16th, or 5th, or 10th.

Our chances will be much better of winning the lottery after the debacle that will be 2026.

If shady would have just started a few more threads this travesty would have been averted.
