OT: CFP changes needed immediately...
...with ND refusing to play MU or anyone else in a bowl game should be the straw that broke the camels back for the CFP. Like it or not, many decades of hard work have been put in to create the college Bowls and thus reward college football conferences and programs and provide them additional recognition and monies. The CFP isn't perfect, but this year its pretty good and fair and balanced. Job well done by the committee. I would like the CFP to take the next step and declare only teams in conferences will be considered from here out. This nonsense with ND that the rules don't apply to them needs to end.
Re: OT: CFP changes needed immediately...
lol - they make changes all the time - it'll be OK
Re: OT: CFP changes needed immediately...
Your point about needing to be in a conference might deserve some discussion.
But "fair"? No way James Madison and Tulane are top 12 teams.

Re: OT: CFP changes needed immediately...
No kidding. The games involving them will have no interest. Participation trophies are ridiculous. Let the G5 teams have their own playoffs.

But they shouldn't be. Let it be the true Top 12.
Re: OT: CFP changes needed immediately...
The illusion of college football being what it used to be needs to be shredded. Take the best 48-64 programs and divide them into 4 divisions. Division winners get a bye, the #2 and #3 play a play in game to come up with 8 teams playing for the Championship. Each division winner plays the winner of the play in game from a different division than their own.
I purposely didn't use the word conferences because that term should die with the illusion that college football is anything different than another professional football league. Just get down to this type of set up because it's all about the $$$ now.
Let the other sports revert back to their original conference affiliations.
