I don't see enough on the forwards side that scares me on montreal from a physical standpoint. One slow lumbering defensemen is it, their 4th line is more leftover skill than anything. So i'd guess thats the reason.

Worth noting that in my opinion this is an argument over two defensemen that are more in the 7th defensemen conversation, so personally i'd be interested in seeing Skinner get time and us waiving one of them. It isn't good people management so it wont happen, but i think the most plausible 3rd pairing defensemen we have right here and now is in the AHL.

If both Kaski and Luff are in the lineup as expected, then Monty needs to give them some ice time, especially in a back to back. Kaski had less than 8 minutes the other night, even with Kyrou out early. And yes, I know we were short-handed 8 times, but he still played mainly 10 forwards.

Guess there’s always a chance he goes 11/7 and gets Tucker in there?!?! Who know these days with the blender style coaching.
