Not much has happened over the past many years. I used to get excited, but the high points recently have been the Lottery and the Rule 5 draft.

If a trade happens that will be nice to consider, but my hopes are not high. Lottery and Rule 5 draft this week.

I’m most anticipating the lottery. If we win that or come in Top three I’ll be ecstatic.

Besides that I’m not expecting much except a downgrade in roster talent for an increase in years of control. These are not the type of trade-off that get me excited

This year it’s gonna be more like Santa is leaving you a load of lumber and you have to carve out your own train set and rocking horse and hope you do it right.

Oh, and he’s also taking away some of previous year presents because other girls and boys deserve them more because you are going to be sick in bed for the next 2-3 years recovering from cancer and the other kids are healthy and ready to play with your toys.

A kid who knows the best thing he'll get for Christmas this year is a toy that maybe he'll be able to play with sometime in summer 2027. (Fingers crossed.)

When you were a kid before Christmas, you didn't have to give anything for those gifts. Bloom will not be getting any gifts. Bad analogy.

Sure you did.
You aged out of some older stuff and replaced it with newer stuff.
Some of the older things given away stung a bit, they were once a favorite.
There's no guarantee that the new things would bring as much joy however
it was time to move forward.

I guess you need to read up more about what actually happens at Winter Meetings these days. Not much.
