That's almost 2 percent of $20.5M. I wonder how much Missouri paid him.

Interesting. I find it hard to believe that an arbitrator will find that Georgia sustained as much damage as they're claiming. Also, these liquidated damages clauses will disappear.

Lawsuit sounds petty and unenforceable. Hope there is a counter suit. UGA effectively stole a game this season, and Smart was caught lying about it. UGA on the same sleeze train as LSU now? Hard to believe but seems like it.

Better check that over-heating problem, Jack.

So I'm a Georgia fan. Where's my bias, wondering how much Wilson cost Missouri or questioning Jack's temperature setting? It has to be one or the other since that's all I've posted. I think maybe it's your bias that's showing. I'm guessing you wouldn't give a [shirt] either way if Wilson doesn't play for Missouri.
Are you an attorney specializing in contract law? Neither am I. I know, everyone has agreed that a player isn't technically an employee and is merely signing away his NIL rights but I don't get the distinction between a coach's buy out amount and what a player commits to pay if he leaves for another school. I'm sure coaches would celebrate any thing that gives them more roster certainty.

Yes, the schools are vehemently against having athletes receiving NIL contracts be classified as an employee. That would make their employer (the university) follow EEOC and a host of other laws. That’s what the SCORE Act is all about and why the schools endorse it.
Georgia's filing claims Wilson received his first $30,000 payment Dec. 24, 2024. Less than two weeks later, he declared his plans to transfer. But they’re asking for $390,000 - thirteen times what they paid him. That seems a bit rich IMHO.

Yeah Georgia is better than this. Leave the kid alone.
If schools start seeking damages on every player that transfers, this is going to get more out of control than it already is.

So if universities are going to sue players for leaving and the university they went to, why not sue coaches when they break a contract and the university they went to?
KIffen was under contract with Ole Miss through 2031 with about $40 million left on contract.
Ole Miss should sue Kiffin and LSU for that $40 million.
But of course players aren't employees, even though they pay them $30.000 per month.

Since you’re so high and mighty, would you mind telling us why God’s gift to football is seeking $390K when they only paid Wilson $30K?

He's a horse's (bleep) to be equivocating on this UGA [nonsense]. So don't expect a good answer.mutigers1987 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2025 21:23 pmSince you’re so high and mighty, would you mind telling us why God’s gift to football is seeking $390K when they only paid Wilson $30K?

Hey, you're back with more name-calling. You even picked up a wing man.
Have you even read the linked article in the OP? You sure haven't said word one about it. I know your usual approach is cut-and-run assholery, but why don't you surprise me for once?
