Michigan State received a historic $401 million commitment from Greg Williams & Dawn Williams. This donation is the largest in the university's history and a cornerstone of the new $1 billion "For Sparta" capital initiative.
I know that $11 million went to academics (under 3%) with the majority split between the NIL cooperative (or what ever they call the part that pays students) and the general athletic department to spend as they fit.
Although some news outlets falsely reported that the Williams are Spartan alumni, they never did attend the school but they do live in the Lansing area.

That's involved for sure. Every team needs fans like the Williams."We live here," Greg Williams said. "We didn't go to school here, but we live here. We have a belief that if you're going to be involved with something, be involved."

That’s a lot of money even for them.
I wonder how that’s structured? I’m sure it produces a significant tax benefit, but probably more “perks”?
I will say, Drink is on target trying to raise awareness for Missouri’s top companies to get behind Mizzou. It’s the arms race that has been created for better or worse.
