Blues Announcers
What kind of hockey talk was that?
Superman, Wonder Woman and invisible man?
Time to get Kelly back.
This and the Blues brand of hockey have turned me off totally as a lifelong fan (56 years).

Re: Blues Announcers
While I think this topic has been beaten to death, I will also say that, as someone who liked Kerbs on the radio…he doesn’t translate at all to TV. Vitale sucked on the radio and he sucks even worse on TV. They’re abysmal…Vitale especially. He might be the worst color man the blues have had in my lifetime (40+ years).
All that being said, I’m still going to watch. The announcers have no real bearing on my fandom.

Re: Blues Announcers
Kerber must of have known a lot of the right people to be broadcasting in a major market.
He's awful.
The way he calls the play he doesn't even have to know who the opposing players numbers are.
You seldom ever hear him give an opponent's name in describing the play which he seldom does anyway.
You don't know where the puck is your listening on the radio.
I guess being a local boy has its privileges.

Got a text from a friend who lives out of town: “First time watching the Blues feed this year. These new announcers are painful.” An unbiased observer agrees with many of us who are less than thrilled with the new TV announcers.

I am in Hawai'i and missed the first few games too. When I tuned in to my first Blues broadcast I had the same reaction. They are objectively bad and it's embarrassing.

Noel Picard barely spoke English, and Gus Kyle had a few interesting moments (one time, when frozen pucks were kept in a bucket in the timekeepers box, he got so excited when a player in the penalty box threw them on the ice, Gus said "he threw a puck full of pails on the ice").Backesdraft wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 21:00 pm While I think this topic has been beaten to death, I will also say that, as someone who liked Kerbs on the radio…he doesn’t translate at all to TV. But boy, they were entertaining. And they worked with Dan Kelly, so no mentions of Wonder Woman like we heard tonight.
Re: Blues Announcers
Kelly wouldn't come back now, and I wouldn't blame him a bit! He was treated very poorly by this organization for sure.bluecard04 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 20:45 pm What kind of hockey talk was that?

What, you don't like the Invisible Man probing Superman? The game almost seems like a distraction for these two. It is like, how rude that the game interferes with their playtime and story telling hour!

Yeah they are pretty sh*t.
Panger and Kelly were top tier, we were spoiled for a decade.

I think I would rather have Andy Strickland and Rivers calling the game.

Re: Blues Announcers
Our announcers reflect Blues Management.
Their moves make the cash register sing as Priority #1, and their firm belief is that the fans in St Louis won't notice because they love their Blues.
The fans of St Louis are being taken for granted and disrespected on the ice and the airwaves.
John Kelly saw it coming--guaranteed. If you were listening, he made that call loud and clear.

His call on the Geekie goal was pure trash....you're right - he doesn't know who the other teams players are.11WSChamps wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 21:17 pm The way he calls the play he doesn't even have to know who the opposing players numbers are.

Kerber looks like Curly of the Three Stooges.
