One of the most impressive things Bloom has done so far is his handling of the Nootbaar situation. About a week before the GM meetings for "no apparent reason" he gives a public update on Noot's recovery. People wondered if he might miss the whole season, but no, he may be ready for the opener, if not about a month after. He will not miss significant time. Now about a week before the Winter Meetings Bloom comments about the good interest in Nootbaar and it is being circulated, and regurgitated, and regurgitated about how much interest there is in Nootbaar. It gets said so often that people accept it as true. Bloom is creating a market for someone who looked unmarketable in October. Mo would/could have never done that.

Sure and for a lesser return, no need to rush dealing him unless Bloom gets exactly what he wants.Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 10:33 amIf great interest now…as Woo said… no need to waitrockondlouie wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 10:30 amAs I said above, I'd wait to deal him mid season in the hopes he puts together a couple solid months and ups the trade value.Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 10:21 amYes, I hope all those teams see the same “things” you dorockondlouie wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 10:17 amLow bar being the recent Cardinals team best all round OF'er and notice I said "when healthy".Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 10:10 amRock, he’ll be 29 end of next season. I wouldn't deal him until mid season, after his return and hopefully he increases that trade value even more.
Where’s this upside? If the narrative is that he hasn’t fulfilled his “potential” because of injuries every season….then he also need to realize he can’t stay healthy…..either way, below avg production for corner OF
IF he'd stay healthy and get 600 PA's, then I'd bet he could be a .350 OB%/.800 OPS hitter w/20 HR potential.
No doubt he's injury prone.
But there's a reason Woo reports multiple teams are interested, they see the same thing I do.![]()

And if Bloom gets some real talent back……a bust of that magnificent chin should be displayed prominently at Busch![]()

I am just worried and wonder what it does to our hotbed of potential Japanese signings by trading Noot away? I am sure it is just a matter of time till we see the results of his work and affiliation with those potential Japanese talents coming to the Lou!

Some of those teams may see a buy low opportunity.
BD likely sticks where he goes and will cost more, IMO.
Weird does happen. What was once the easiest position to fill
has some teams putting infielders out there. SD has 2 out there.
With Boston shopping Duran, I'd be interested.

Well, he got 583 PAs this year, and what did that produce? If only he’d play a full season >>>>>>all could see how great he is…..
He plays close to a full season>>>>he didn’t perform because he was playing injured
Let someone else realize his full potential
You let him play next season to showcase>>>>>he’ll end up injured again, leaving no doubt that he’s FRAGILE
Trade NOW
We’ll refer to this going Forward as the “Fedde Principle”
