500 team maybe. Can't rebound, haven't played defense in 4 years. One of the worst free throw shooting teams in the nation. Just not much there on the SEC level. Maybe win 6 sec games .

Ant needs to contribute more offensively. Not sure why he’s so passive.

It seems to me unless we're in transition the offense seems to have two options. Find Mitchell or jack up a three.
Of course there is also the Sebastian Mack option of going one on three in attempt to get to the basket.
Need another viable option in the half court besides Mitchell.

I guess Porter was supposed to turn into MPJ or Jontay. At 6'11" with some athleticism you'd think he could play basketball. Doesn't seem if he really wants to. If you could put his size & athleticism & Mack's aggression together...

gets back to what the coaches done in practice to get all these talented disparate parts to be a team? gates and his staff have been exposed over the last couple of years as just a collection of guys and not really good coaches.
Mack is a loose cannon who can't shoot a jump shot and is way out of control and TO should be handling the ball as PG and Ant move to the 2 and be a primary shooter along with Crews and Stone when healthy which he has trouble being. MM should be pulled from game and sit for a while everytime he launches yet another brick from 3. Or maybe they want him to prove his worthiness for next level. Phillips is good around the basket but they have hard time getting him the ball where he can be effective. Porter has been good against the blood donors but looked lost against a good team.
Lets hope they figure the right rotation out going into conference play and maybe teach how to play a lil D. Gates isn't a difference maker with how he runs the team during games so far. regularly gets out coached but he can recruit. is it too early to say Wait till next season?

You can go off attempts if you want. I'll go off actual production. He's averaging one more point than last season. Without Grill and Bates, Ant needs to be an offensive threat, averaging 15/gmwinonsports wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 11:16 amLast season he averaged 5.5 FGA per game and 1.5 3FGA per game.
This year those numbers are 7.3 and 3.1 respectively.

Re: This tean is what I expectrd
Production is not measured by attempts, by anybody. That's like saying you want to hit 30 homeruns, and then count at-bats as way to measure how many homeruns you hit. Makes no sense. You're suggesting he's taking more shots and is, therefore, more productive. That's not the case. In fact, you can make the argument that he's less productive than last season. He's taking 33% more FGA attempts, including twice as many 3s and is only scoring 11% more points.winonsports wrote: ↑05 Dec 2025 09:43 amHe can't make more unless he shoots themwoofy25 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 16:09 pmWrong, he needs to make more shots.winonsports wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 15:25 pmHe can't contribute more offensively, unless he takes more shots.woofy25 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025 13:52 pmYou can go off attempts if you want. In order get credited with points, the ball has to go through the hoop. So, yes, he does need more shots to be more productive, since no one can be expected to make 100% of their shots. The shots need to go in. His 2pt% is significantly less so far this year, along with his FT%.
