Rough times dudes
At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.
Schenn has 4 goals in 27 games and hes a -16. I fully believe if given 16+ TOI per night Kaskimaki could score 4 times and not be a -16. Kaskimaki can skate well and will check and hound pucks, not drift around slowly bobble pucks and not be able to literally pass or shoot.
Trade Binnie now and promote Zherenko, Hofer is the starter. Yes the Blues have made glaring turnovers, but believe it or not sometimes a goalie has to STILL make the save. Goals being tipped from 30' away is not an excuse then when i saw Bummingtons tantrum that was it for me. .878 save pct is not ALL about the team defense
Trade Parayko, something is off with him hes either injured or past him prime who knows but hes not the same players hes been for the last few years. You want to talk about Buch being a bad contract what about Parayko? $6.5 NTC till '28-'29. Bad looking deal right now
Buch Thomas Kyrou
Neigbours Dvorsky Snuggerud
Holloway Bjudstad Joseph
Kaskimaki Suter Sunny
Broberg Faulk
Fowler Kessel
Tucker Mailloux
Hofer
Zhernko

Likely, but as Branch Rickey once said, "We can finish in last place without you".Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:56 am At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.

Re: Rough times dudes
Can't agree on Binnington and Parayko. Schenn, ok.
Re: Rough times dudes
Most likely none of this will happen, and if it does not until later in the year. The team will try and straighten out the ship and get to a point of being competitive. And maybe that means a relatively big move now. But they aren't blowing this thing up just yet.
Re: Rough times dudes
Hard to move players like them during the season. Something will be coming back if for no other reason than to balance the cap hit. Who wants to buy low on our vets (other than maybe Faulk who is playing well) that can afford to pay in value and can fit them under the cap?Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:56 am At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.

Is Army, months away from turning it over to Steen, going to trade away three players he won the Cup with 6 years ago that earned them the contracts they're currently on?
I'm gonna go with probably not, unless the return is McDavid. He'll probably leave Steen with a nice set of draft picks and a solid team coming through roster turnover with a stock of quality prospects. Now if Steen chooses this offseason to trade Schenn, Parayko, and Binner, that will kind of make me laugh

Re: Rough times dudes
this seems pretty reactionary. Parayko is -3 averaging 23 minutes a night on a team that can't score goals. In what world is he not playing good hockey? he isn't playing super offensive, but he's playing good hockey in his role. Schenner is having a rough year. Binners reaction yesterday wasn't good. But I think there's more to that. He's been having some rough games, he might have felt that was too early (2 terrible goals isn't too early), and he was facing Husso that nearly took his spot multiple times who is currently a washed goalie. That probably didn't sit well.
From the way things are going, the young guys look like they are going to get to play anyways. People getting hurt will elevate some other players into roles. Kaskimaki got called up, I'd have to guess Stenberg isn't far behind.

Re: Rough times dudes
problem with this is, those guys dont have much value. parayko yes, he does. but the other 2, i dont think so. unless u can see someone desperate that binny is the big time goalie that is needed. (which does tend to be right)Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:56 am At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.

The forum will tell you here that you can’t trade Parayko , so we can never move on from him. They have him penciled in the lineup until 2040Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:56 am At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.

There is going to be a day where everyone wants parayko go and 90% of those guys will say they were “always” on board with it.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 11:52 amThe forum will tell you here that you can’t trade Parayko , so we can never move on from him. I know we will spend a long time looking for the next parayko, but hevwould bring a huge return… until he wont.
Re: Rough times dudes
I mean, you CAN trade him...but that alone would shift this team directly into tank mode.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 11:52 am

Do we want that? Maybe? Maybe they're unwillingly there already. But that move would signal it loud and clear, and this ownership has never shown the stomach for that.
Re: Rough times dudes
Watching Hairy’s projections of this team a couple months ago … to now full on tank

Re: Rough times dudes
The problem is - and I don't blame people because there is only so much time in the day - that the vast majority of posters ONLY watch the Blues. So when we get a couple of decent draft picks, they think the rebuild is over. They don't consider that most every team is getting first rounder drafted every year. They don't consider that each team has guys graduating from the minors every year. They definitely don't consider that the Blues - as a whole - are one of the least talented teams in the league on paper. Almost every team in this league has a guy that would be the best player on the Blues. The true contenders have multiple of them and then another few that would be 2nd best.
This was clear to anyone being objective but most here see everything through the Blues...

Re: Rough times dudes
It's not even Christmas yet. It's a looong season. Get the injuries out of the way now rather than in February or March. Last night was one of those games. They were generating chances. I doubt Army and Steen are pushing the panic button.

Re: Rough times dudes
It's ironic that a win last night would have technically put the team at .500 because 9 wins in 27 games feels like the making of a disaster.

Was that Branch Rickey, or was it Joe whomever who was managing the Cubs in 1926 and let Grover Cleveland Alexander go since the Cubs were gonna finish last anyway?DawgDad wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 11:09 amLikely, but as Branch Rickey once said, "We can finish in last place without you".Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:56 am At this point for me trade Binnington, Parayko and Schenn now, turn it over to faster slightly more skilled younger guys who will compete for pucks.

The worst part is being the seller in that situation and watching the guy you let go pull an all time hero World Series win out of his superannuated butt
