Inept offense.
Buch actually took a great shot that connected.
But others miss, miss, missed

What's got 6 sticks but can't score a goal?

The St.Louis Blues.

Buchnevich has to be one of the most over-paid players in the NHL.

They don't create passing lanes, too bunched up and there is no quick release slappers or wristers. Passing is horrible. Please go back to fundamental hockey!

so was Hofer.
Binner...not so much.
yeah right. more on our offense. Husso was very beatable; a lot of over committing by him and we couldn't put the puck in the ocean tonight.

Ducks 28th in the league for penalty kill. Is 0-6 on the power play

It was just a disappointing game. I thought we had effort in the last minute to play in the second period. And about five minutes, maybe of the 3rd period. Forget about it -one game. I was optimistic for future games, but this really disappointed me all the misses that our forwards couldn’t connect with

I don’t know how Schenn is getting as much of a pass as he has for blame. His passing, puck decions, and simply accepting passes was atrocious all night.

Agree. Disappointing because this was a very winnable game. Ducks played last night, their #1 goalie is hurt, and the Blues had chances. Hockey gods tried to give us this one.

Would also have been nice to play this game with Snuggy and Suter too. That would have surely made a difference.

The offensive power outage continues. Veteran players are playing without any touch, it's all pound the net with hard shots (many right into the goaltender), slap shot one-timer attempts when a simple quick wrist shot would have a much better chance, hard passes that are muffed or bounce over sticks, scrums in the crease with multiple players trying to bang the puck through the goaltenders body and equipment.

It looks like hard play but they are just pounding their heads against a wall, wasted energy.

The fact of the matter is right now the top 6 isn't good enough. They had numerous point blank opportunities and either missed the net or couldn't get their sticks on them. Just inexcusable.

Anaheim has two players with 30+ points Robert Thomas is our leading scorer with 16 points.

That's just awful. Most of our top 6 aren't even averaging .5 ppg. Right now the only people earning their pay are Neighbours, Broberg, Parayko(argument could be made he needs to be better as well) and Faulk.

Other than that everyone else has been way too inconsistent or not nearly good enough.

Tonight was the perfect example of why this time can't get out of their own way. Facing a team on the second night of a back to back who gave up a 3-0 lead the night before. Going against a goaler who couldn't stop a beach ball and we make him look like a Vezina candidate. The power play having more opportunities than shots, and a starting goaltender who wasn't ready to start.

All of that previous good will just sent down the drain. Until the top 6 actually decide to earn their money this team will do nothing but flirt with .500 all season.

Binnington did not have a great start but he’s hardly the core problem with this locker room and if you’re giving guys like Schenn, buchnevich and Thomas constant leeway then pulling your veteran goaltender in the first period after two goals is a complete cowardly move.

If you think these players don’t see through the cowardly panicking Montgomery’s constant line changes and random acts of accountability, then you have no idea about locker rooms.

I was a big fan of Montgomery but this season is really opening my eyes. The leadership issues on this team are a real concern and in my opinion are rotting from the coach out.
