Quick hook on Binnington

Post by Galatians221jb1 »

I watch with announcers muted but he looked pretty upset at being pulled. Cant help but wonder if a Binnington trade is being discussed and they’re looking to make him anxious to wave off his no trade clause. Extremely early hook.

It was but to me it has more to do with the fact that they have started off so poorly this year and need to stay in the game if at all possible and Hofer did have the shutout last game. Binnington can get mad all he wants but that second goal was a horrible goal to give up. Just prove you should be in there your next game/start. I really don't blame Monty in this case for pulling him.

Well, the first goal was a fluke, and had Anaheim not scored. We stepped up very hard to tie it up and then that second goal you looked like Binnington was completely unprepared for the shot
So I still think we would’ve been down by one after one and this team was just too flat for most of the game

Binny could have scored a couple.

Taken in isolation trade talk is a huge overreaction. This was an act of frustration by Monty. Binner is a grizzled vet, he needs to suck it up, turn the page, and get ready for the next game.

If they are looking to trade Binner it's a back office roster management business deal, not sparked by this.

He’s got a modified NTC they can trade him anyway.

...maybe it was a peave him off move to get him to waive his NTC. Armstrong having a difficult time trying to trade the garbage contracts.

I don't agree with it, and I think it was a knee jerk reaction.

Anyone that's watched this team with Binner knows he needs to carry the load. He Is a workhorse that needs consistent play with an occasional game off. He does not do well with starting every other game and it messes with him.

I'm not sure as a fan how I know this about our goalie and Monty doesn't get it.

I'm sadly starting to think he may be on the trading block.

AGREED,

and lets be honest, that 2nd goal was a perfect shot off the pipe and in.

This organization is Completely Frustrated, from the Awful start, Mailloux growing pains and the Horrendous decision to fire Kelly leaving them with a deplorable unlistenable broadcast with kermit and Vitale,...
yapping away about nothing.

I saw it as a rather drastic shake up attempt that ultimately failed in game.

Not sure what it means going forward but that move is part of that too.

Just tired of the antics year in year out from him. Just stop the puck. I’m ready to move him and Schenn for whatever I can get neither have much value at this point. Shakeup is needed in the room IMO.

I think Montgomery was pulling Binnington to collect himself on the bench before heading back after the next whistle - Binnington lost his head and the plan changed. They were only down 2-1 at that point - that was a head scratcher and showing up the coach is never a good sign.

Nothing to see here. They love each other.

“You know, I love Jordan Binnington,” Montgomery said after the eventual 4-1 loss to the Ducks. “He’s a competitor. He raises his games in the big moments all the time. I love him. He walked off the ice, he said, ‘I love you!’ I said, ‘I love you, too!’

“We’re both competitors, and at the end of the period, he waited for me, we apologized and we moved on. It’s over and done with.”

Like coach said both guys are passionate and with a rough road trip coming up this last game of the homestead to get to .500 was important.

It won't be the last time coach and player are at odds.

I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for it to be any other way.

That second goal was bad.
