Illini/Northwestern
I think the cats take the Illini down Saturday. The cats have a pretty good defense to go against the Illini porous offensive line. Should be another long day for Luke. Northwestern QB stone is solid and will put points on the board against a weak Illini defense. Northwestern 30-Illini 10

that would be a bummer

Good win Saturday. 8-4 sounds a lot better than 7-5. Based on reports, those were the worst snow conditions ever at Memorial Stadium. Not a very pretty game, but good to pull it out and win on a high note. Glad to see the seniors get to go out with a win.
Sounds like our bowl game will likely be in Tampa, Vegas or Nashville. Big question now will be to see who opts out. I would say Jacas will sit out for sure. Altmyer is the biggest question mark, along with maybe JC Davis.

yeah, it was nice to see the defense finally have an impact on a W.ChiefSTL wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 10:08 am Good win Saturday. 8-4 sounds a lot better than 7-5. I hadn't thought about the opt-outs for a bowl game. If Altmeyer doesn't play I'm not sure I'll watch. I did see something about the high quality of the incoming class for 2026. I hope some of them are good O linemen.

This is probably our best prep class since the Rejus Benn/Martez Wilson class. There's some guys that might step in as true freshman. DB Nick Hankins from Belleville is the headliner, top 100 kid. He likely plays next year. Our second highest recruit is an OL from New Jersey.Rickster wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 10:32 amyeah, it was nice to see the defense finally have an impact on a W.ChiefSTL wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 10:08 am Good win Saturday. 8-4 sounds a lot better than 7-5. There's two big possible additions by signing day on Wednesday. Theres an OT from Florida that chose UCLA over us originally, but has reopened his recruitment. It's between us, Ohio State and Tennessee. Some national insiders are predicting him to us. There's also a DE from Ohio that is currently committed to Cincinnati that has been blowing up. He's visited Illinois and is still deciding.
