You'd think a fan base that had to wait a lifetime for a Stanley Cup could wait longer than a month or two for a young defenseman to get acclimated to a new country , team and league.
God help us.
The way this place celebrates mediocrity instead of demanding change it may be another 50 years
Well I'm not celebrating mediocrity I'm just willing to let the kid play, get some experience with a defense partner and give it time.
Saying what you’re saying here and not liking the trade are two very different things. I don’t think I’ve seen a single person say to jettison the guy. I’d say 99% of the fanbase agrees with you so it’s not some monumental position you’re taking here
I'd say the comments about his play early on was pretty raw here and other places.
The fact you're one of those who have voiced strong opposition to the trade is likely clouding your perception here.

I mean I still think it was a bad trade. But I’m 100% for giving the kid a full shot now.

Nope and he’s gonna get a full shot the organization needs this to work out to save face.

That is NOT why they need it.
That is ridiculous.
They need it to work because young puck moving RHD are gold in the league and it would be a HUGE advantage if it works.
They could care less whether it saves face or not. If any front office is concerned with saving face…then they suck as a front office and need to get their priorities straight.

Upside was supposed to be offensive mainly. Still seeing none. So, no love.
22 years old and 21 nhl games under his belt and you see nothing in terms of offensive potential?
His speed, his shot, his size, his strength?
I can see that potential in his last 4 games.....with point being it's like 50% better than his first round of games.
Pretty sure Monty see's it.
13 games 1 pt -12. Not talking about potential we didn’t need a project for a top 9 forward and he’s a project. One of the many issues this year. Try to be objective.
Objective? You don't see the difference in his first stint to this one? Not potential but actual play?
It's night and day.
If it's stats you judge on he's a plus player since his return but a lot more than that to see imo.

Pretty naive to think they don’t need to save face. Your last words there said a mouthful - nobody in the league thinks this deal was better for the Blues right now. They DO need to get their priorities straight.

It is already working out we see Mailloux whos had something like 21 NHL games played getting better every game. The Blues are going to be extending Snuggerud, Holloway and Neighbours the Blues have Stenberg and Carbonneau on the horizon. The Blues were not extending Bolduc something they saw in him in their view made him expendable.

Everyone in the league agrees that the deal was not who wins now…..
Everyone in the league understands why the deal was done for BOTH sides.
Most people agreed at the time of the deal that the time for the trade to be judged is 2-3 years down the road.
Doesn’t change the fact that the Blues don’t make any deals to try to “save face”….
Man, sometimes I wonder if I sounded this idiotic when I had an Army bias for years due to feeling like he was going to turn the Blues into an uber over the hill vet-laden team and shunning youth and draft picks like he did in Dallas that got em fired.
Over time Ive come to accept the fact that while he’s far from the perfect GM, he wasnt/isnt as bad as I initially made him out to be.
I still disagree with his penchant for overpaying too many vets in either dollars, term, or both, specially re-signing them a year before they’re a FA. But overall he’s been fine, and it could be alot worse. Some of you who let your hate for him, or hate for any particular player or coach for that matter, cloud your judgement, really look foolish to most people who use common sense instead of lettin your hate for Army also extend your hate towards every trade or signing he makes, which automatically makes ya hate that player too cause youve gotta be consistently inconsistent.
Ya’ll need to ….save face…and stop being so brilliantly transparent and sheepishly řetarded, and try being a fan without letting your animosity ruin the fun of being a fan. Nothing wrong with criticism, nothing at all, but this kind of stuff goes beyond that. Stop letting stuff you cant control consume you, and in turn making you look like a büttnügget who’s obsessed with being a moronic contrarian for the sake of fulfilling your spite-filled agenda.
