Anyone up for a 3-way deal ? Trading Donovan and Arenado in one deal
Bloom sends Donovan to one team and the other team gets Arenado. In the return , Cardinals get player(s) from each of the other two teams.
Kill 2 birds with 1 stone .
No teams in mind just the concept of making one blockbuster trade deal . Those 3-way trades are always fun at the Winter Meetings. Be fun to see the Cardinals part of one . Bloom rocks the Winter Meetings ! Go Chaim !

Stay simple. Move quickly.

It’s not about easiness in these trades. It’s all about the return.

No, one has nothing to do with the other.
Nado is basically a salary dump. Sans a team desperately wanting him he’s the one I’d be ok holding onto ie I’m not gonna trade him just to trade him.

If the Cards attach Arenado with Donovan to save money on Arenado’s contract then I’m out as a fan as this shows that they never will spend the money to compete and it’s only about saving money.
They need to trade Arenado separately and spend down his contract to facilitate a trade.

The only thing the Cards would gain from this is having the team acquiring Donovan send money to the team acquiring Arenado. Thus saving the Cards money but also offsetting the return received for Donovan.ramfandan wrote: ↑29 Nov 2025 20:24 pm Bloom sends Donovan to one team and the other team gets Arenado. That’d be such a horrible use of resources. Their 2026 payroll is already super suppressed. There’s no reason for BDW to need to save MORE money. If anything, the Cards should be looking to eat more money in the arenado and Contreras deals to acquire better prospects to speed up the rebuild.
Your idea wipes out a huge chunk of the trade value of their best trade chip. Dislike.

That's really just two seperate trades. Team A gets Donovan we X, team B gets Arenado and we Y. There's not players moving between all A and B.ramfandan wrote: ↑29 Nov 2025 20:24 pm Bloom sends Donovan to one team and the other team gets Arenado. No! You do not package Nado in any deal with Donny just to save on Nado’s $$$.
Honestly, the best bet with Nado may be that he has a strong first half of ‘26 and you trade him at the deadline to a contender in need.
But Nado’s move should be completely independent of Donny’s

The glove plays. Defensively he makes our infield maybe the best in baseball. Pitchers delight. As you noted, he can only hit better. Maybe a bigger trade just to keep him and use his assets properly.
