Petrino this weekend
While we’re there, go ahead and lock up Bobby. Take him to lunch Saturday and work out the details. Get out of his way and let him turn the offense into a machine. If he kept the weapons we could have returning we might average 50+ per game.

The offense was a machine under Kirby Moore in 2023.

Cook was injured for most of 2024 and missed two games
Noel missed games.
The Oline was better than it was in 24, so was the defense and special teams.
If you're going to misrepresent facts then you might as well give him some credit for the defense this year too.
Like I said stick to basketball and worshipping player signings.

Re: Petrino this weekend
What’s interesting is if you compare ‘23 to this year the PPG and YPG are nearly identical. Difference was, in ‘23 we were able to put up enough points and yards against good teams but didn’t light up the scoreboard vs lesser teams. As long as we win I’d take that all day.
This year we go against good defensive teams and the offense goes into a funk. Same as last year.
Maybe it’s because of the QB injuries, but it just feels like we’re always misfiring against good teams and leaving a ton of points on the field.
I don’t care who the OC is as long as we win and we’re able to score against good D’s. If it’s Moore, and Drink is handcuffing him, Moore needs to grow a pair and tell Drink hands off I’m the OC. And Moore needs to find some creativity and aggressiveness and prove the naysayers wrong.

Well what's "interesting" is people believe a program spends all this money on a new OC just to be a parrot for the head coach calling plays.Armchair QB wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 07:07 am What’s interesting is if you compare ‘23 to this year the PPG and YPG are nearly identical. That's ridiculous.
Input and discussion of course during the week of preparation. What head coach wouldn't do that?
The passing offense is the worst in the conference in a game where rules are greatly slanted to the offense.
Drinkwitz had to fire Wilks and what a you know the defense has been better. It wouldn't be the first time an OC has been fired.
Re: Petrino this weekend
I'm mixed on the Petrino thing. He's a scumbag for sure but I'm dying for a great offense to go with a really good defense. Watching this defense go to waste has been extremely frustrating.

Big time college sports is essentially professional sports now. So he was a philanderer and has some baggage. If he can help us score 35-40 against good defenses, that along with our D this year would probably have us undefeated. Petrino is pretty great at coaching offense. It would pay off.

Listen nut!
This was the only year that Kirby had control of the scheme and Cook didn't get hurt, because Kirby wasn't running him like Drink does and always getting his qb hurt. Cook, Burden and Speedy Johnson had their best year under Kirby's scheme. Drink admitted that he took back over the scheme, because the offense was scoring too quick. If people prefer mediocrity and not beating at least good teams once in awhile you just extended the right guy. Everybody knows this isn't Kirby's boring and conservative scheme, because before he came here we were complaining about Drink's boring scheme. Before this season Drink said this is the best team since I have been here. Let the darn offense play!
Let's just wait and see what scheme we use when Kirby gets fired or leaves at the end of the year. If Drink didn't like the boring offense..... he's the head coach and the self-proclaimed offensive wizard. He can make a change in the offense. He won't, because this is his offense. Watch the wrs run these straight flat routes stop and turn around. My crippled cousin can cover that mess. That's Drink's system.

You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you.
And you know nothing about the inner workings of how a football team is run.
Just whine like a spoiled child and pile on when things aren't going well and when they are a post of yours is nowhere to be found.
Stick to your worshipping of high school BB signings.
Re: Petrino this weekend
I fully recognize this but it still don't like the idea of hiring a scumbag. Can't see our Christian family values coach bringing in that type of person. It could ruin the chemistry of the team.Armchair QB wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 13:27 pmBig time college sports is essentially professional sports now. So he was a philanderer and has some baggage. Well, the chemistry needs some new chemicals in the offense. "Ruining" that might be a good thing. Blow it up, and start from scratch. Let Petrino or whoever cook.onemizzou wrote: ↑28 Nov 2025 09:57 amI fully recognize this but it still don't like the idea of hiring a scumbag. Next year's schedule is going to force Drinkwitz hand.
You're not going to outscore a lot of those teams by running the zone read 60-percent of the time.
As much as some of us might like the idea of physicality and running the ball you still have to score and have explosive plays to win and reach the next level.

Re: Petrino this weekend
Don’t get me wrong, Arkansas is a very good offensive team and they’ve moved the ball on us today. But I’ve seen some things I wasn’t impressed with.
Attempting a long field goal on 4th and 2? In super windy, wet weather? When you’re 0-7? I’d have thought he’d have gone for it and pushed the envelope. That’s something we’d do. And miss the field goal too.

And too many stupid penalties. Don't need that. Batoon totally outcoached him as well. That guy needs a raise.
