What has Drink really accomplished to get another raise?
The board of curators will (and should) work with Drink on what it will take to keep him long term, but this is now back to back years he will have renegotiated a raise for him or his staff based on his potential. There will be some on the board who step back and look at what he has really accomplished.
Here are his SEC records by year noting that in 2024 and 2025 he was handed the easiest schedule in the SEC.
2020 5-5
2021 3-5
2022 3-5
2023 6-2
2024 5-3
2025 3-4
These do not jump off the page as being elite, but rather middle of the pack. The people talk about how great of a recruiter he is so here are his SEC recruiting rankings by year:
2020 13th
2021 10th
2022 6th
2023 13th
2024 10th
2025 12th
This would say he is in the bottom quarter of the SEC in recruiting even though on a national scale he is in the top 20.
I think Drink is a solid young coach who seems to be learning each year how to be a better HC and his better days are in front of him, but Missouri made him on of the highest paid coach was solely based on his potential. The question with everyone betting on potential is whether or not it will ever materialize. Next year we have Texas, Georgia, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Florida so it will be a critical year for Drink to show he has what it takes to be an SEC HC.

Re: What has Drink really accomplished to get another raise?
The better question, really the only one, is why is the OP insistent of creating the false narrative that Drink is looking for "another" raise?
He didn't ask for one last time and has given no indication he wants one now
It's really sad that a media outlet allows this to continue under their umbrella.

I have no opinion other than to say that the salary structure in the conference is escalating…
deboer at bama gets 10 mil plus…..he’s never won anything
Kiffin….at somewhere….is projected to get 13…..he’s never won anything
Drink’s rep could easily say….if lane is worth 13, surely my guy is worth 10/11

I’m not getting any younger. I want to see us win. I want to see us play disciplined football. I want to see us recruit a good QB and call interesting offensive plays. If Drink left, we’d have to start all over. But, the message has to be we cannot get stuck in the mud. The resources must generate results. Or else. The offense this year was hard to watch and cost us games.

Trolls like the OP love to out Mizzou on an island, where perspective is not just put on the back burner but ignored altogether.45s wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 12:08 pm I have no opinion other than to say that the salary structure in the conference is escalating…

Re: What has Drink really accomplished to get another raise?
This is about where I am as well. Though the “start over” piece means a much different thing than it did even 5 years ago. In 2023, Indiana went 3-9 and fired their HC. In 2024, they were 10-2 and in the BCS Championship Tournament. When Cignetti took over in 2024, he only retained 35% of the players from the 2023 team and hit the portal hard. This year they are 11-0 and #2 in the country. The right coach can turn a program around instantly asRojo Johnson wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 13:46 pm I’m not getting any younger. I want to see us win. Deboer has won a 6 NAIA championships, a Pac12 conference championship, and has been to the BCS championship game as well. He has a pretty distinguished resume. On Kiffin (other than some rings as Saben’s OC) you are correct.45s wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 12:08 pm I have no opinion other than to say that the salary structure in the conference is escalating…

Just to attempt to destroy things in which you have invested.
Or has the athletic office blocked your phone and email, which has forced you to display your insanity on a public forum?

this is the price of playing.
drink is nothing more than a middling p-5 coach, but thats what Missouri is.
next year will be the tell on where program really is. tough schedule, and should be a new qb from NIL.

I see Attila. He's 42 years old and hasn't done it yet.
And therefore, will not do it.
Now outside of this forum among his peers, it's a whole different story.

Rez is passionate about his team. He’s a FAN. That’s what you’ve never understood. This is a forum for FANS to say what’s on their mind and then other FANS agree, disagree, or whatever but it’s typically civil banter and debate.winonsports wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 16:14 pmOh, do you regularly try to set your house on fire as well? You come here to add NOTHING to these conversations except get in the way and seek attention. Now if you disagree with him, say so and maybe present some facts and opinions to back up your side of it. But be respectful.
Re: What has Drink really accomplished to get another raise?
Why would Mizzou have to start all over? Look what a coaching change did for A&M. That being said, I don’t see Drink getting fired nor should he. 20+ straight sellouts, including blood donor” games, two major stadium renovations and a tremendous improvement in facilities agree with me. Maybe Drink is a flim-flam man, but no one has connected with the students, donors and fans like he has since I started following Mizzou 1965.Rojo Johnson wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 13:46 pm I’m not getting any younger. You do realize Indiana lost to the only two teams they played that were worth a (bleep) last year and finally beat a good Oregon team this year.rezero wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 14:00 pmThis is about where I am as well. Otherwise their schedule is a joke compared to the SEC.

I'm with you Rojo, as soon as they recruit and/or develop a downfield passer and an OC to put it into his playbook this program could be something really special because everything else has been very impressive.Rojo Johnson wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 13:46 pm I’m not getting any younger.
