It appears Bregman won't be returning to the Red Sox
Aren't the Red Sox on the list of teams Arenado would accept a trade to? If so, maybe Bloom could work something out with them like he did for Gray. Maybe Bloom could pry away Jhostynxson Garcia. A 22 year old RH hitting outfield slugger.

So you’re keeping all the salary and adding a prospect?
Re: It appears Bregman won't be returning to the Red Sox
The Cardinals might have to eat some salary in order to get Garcia. Maybe some for Arenado this upcoming season. The following season he's fairly reasonably priced.

you've been told over and over again that the Cards aren't getting a Top Prospect for Arenado. CT has told you, Pundits have told you.Shady wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 17:19 pmThe Cardinals might have to eat some salary in order to get Garcia. Maybe some for Arenado this upcoming season. No amount of eaten contract will pry the #85 overall prospect from the Red Sox.
Once again, they'll likely get an expiring contract so the other team can offset their cost. And maybe a DSL/FCL/Low A lottery ticket that hits .680 OPS, K's a lot, but hits HR's when he makes contact.

Re: It appears Bregman won't be returning to the Red Sox
Arenado is a 1.5 WAR player on a serious decline.... Gray is holding steady the last two years around 3.7 WAR. Two different players, one bowing to Father Time...The other raging against Father Time and succeeding. We got a good return for Gray. Nado will not get a better return, and Garcia is a much better return than Clark and Fitts.

Re: It appears Bregman won't be returning to the Red Sox
I'm not so sure about that. It depends on how badly a team needs a fairly dependable 3B. And how much of Arenado's salary the Cardinals would be willing to send.craviduce wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 17:48 pmyou've been told over and over again that the Cards aren't getting a Top Prospect for Arenado. That's on you...you refuse to accept reality....compare the two players. It's rather simple, even for you.Shady wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 18:01 pmI;m not so sureabout that. This linked MSN article refers to a reporter in The Athletic speculating that the Tigers should make a run at Bregman if they decide to keep Skubal. And that is your basis for saying “it appears Bregman won’t be returning to the Red Sox”?Shady wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 17:58 pmhttps://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nhl/al ... c61e&ei=12

Now that's just not true, they can easily get a top 10 prospect for Arenado, JJ and $100 million cash
