Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
With Chip being fired, Mizzou should immediately be picking up the phone and checking his interest in an OC gig with Mizzou. Chip is a great offensive coach and has a long history of developing QBs and has been behind some great RBs as well. He would be a massive upgrade and also provide a boost in offensive recruiting.
Re: Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
I don't know whether he can turn spam into filet mignon. He couldn't do it with Geno Smith. What makes you think he could do much with Beau Pribula, who you know will be QB if Drinkwitz stays.rezero wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 16:53 pm With Chip being fired, Mizzou should immediately be picking up the phone and checking his interest in an OC gig with Mizzou. Slightly off topic but not really.....what is Pribula's NIL status for next season ? Does he renegotiate for next year? Can Missouri pass on him if they wanted to or are they committed in any way to keep him?icon wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:23 pmI don't know whether he can turn spam into filet mignon. We have a darn good OC in Kirby Moore. We need to find a head coach that will let him do his job and allow him to be able to use his scheme without pulling rank on him.

Drink may very well be part of the problem if he demands an ultra conservative approach. But, I’ve seen no evidence that Moore is an offensive mastermind either. It literally seems like we have maybe 5 plays total.TheMajicMan wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 22:11 pmrezero wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 16:53 pm With Chip being fired, Mizzou should immediately be picking up the phone and checking his interest in an OC gig with Mizzou. It’s kind of a mess and it’s a shame. We have a ton of weapons.
Re: Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
This is where I am as well. Who knows how good Moore is or whether Drink is managing the offense, but if you hire an elite OC then none of that matters. A name like Chip Kelley or Petrino will run the offense that they design. If Drink continues to hire OCs who are “developing” then he may use them as puppets, but the elite and established OC will walk before that happens.Armchair QB wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 22:21 pmDrink may very well be part of the problem if he demands an ultra conservative approach. much with Beau Pribula, who you know will be QB if Drinkwitz stays.
Just another mercenary from the portal who isnt going to pan out.
Zollers should start the season finale and the bowl game.

Re: Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
It's funny reading some of these posts regarding Moore and Drinkwitz.
Ask yourself if Im the head coach and I'm hiring an OC who's young and isnt as established why would I hire someone who's offensive philosophy is greatly different from my own?
The answer is you don't unless you're strictly a head coach that defense is your forte.
Of course the head coach has influence and with a limited Brady Cook it worked with back to back double digit win seasons.
It obviously isnt working with Pribula and as I have said its time to hire an established OC and that coach have full autonomy and keep Drinkwitz out of it.

Re: Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
Trying to remember, Drink was OC before Moore right? Seems like the play calling and philosophy was pretty similar back then (ie conservative, not much downfield, not a lot of creativity). So maybe Moore is hamstrung by Drink. All I know is, the offense never clicks on all cylinders unless we’re playing a bad defense or if we simply overwhelm them in the run game like we did vs Miss State. I don’t know if Moore is locked down by Drink what he could actually do if turned loose, but we haven’t seen evidence he’s capable. We might just need to move on from Moore.11WSChamps wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 06:40 am It's funny reading some of these posts regarding Moore and Drinkwitz.

I too would love to see a big time OC hire, who’ll have full autonomy, and get things humming. We have plenty of talent returning potentially, so if we could hang onto that and bring in the right guy, next season could be special.

Those questions would be better presented to someone who helps run the NIL Collective which you support.
Do you really think the two posters you responded to have the first clue to answer your question?

Re: Mizzou should go all in for Chip Kelly
I'd almost suggest Bobby Petrino (spelling?) down in Arkansas. Doubt he'll get hired as HC for the Hogs, but for OC here, why not. If we would have had a do-over, would we have taken Pearl from Auburn for our basketball program vs Martin? Note, I'm saying almost suggest, but we definitely need to be more creative on offense. As I suggested on another post, having both RBs (Hardy and Roberts) in the backfield at the same time would make it more difficult for the defense to target both as options.

Please tell me you didn't take it seriously when I suggested that dhsux supports a Mizzou NIL Collective.
Now who's showing the intelligence of a house plant.

There are few people more hated in college football than that guy, and there are probably a lotta reasons for it. Keep him far away from this team please.rezero wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 16:53 pm With Chip being fired, Mizzou should immediately be picking up the phone and checking his interest in an OC gig with Mizzou. I wouldn’t mind a new coach though. Or Drink’s hiring of an assistant head coach that handles strategizing and play calling while he stays the bleep out of the way. He does deserve a demotion of some sorts.

Lets see some proof instead of baiting.
Drinkwitz said he was letting go of the reigns of the offense prior to the 2023 season if I recall.
Cook was injured for a portion of 2024 of course you failed to mention that.
The OLine as a collective was better in 2023. I dare say the defense was also better and so were special teams.
Stick to basketball and worshiping signing ceremonies.
You're just trolling when talking football and it shows every time.
