This by far was his best game this season. He looked more confident and assertive with the puck. On the first goal he got caught out there for well over 2 minutes. Thomas had a chance to clear and missed. You can't peg that on him. If there is anything to take from a lackluster loss at least he took a step forward. Darn near scored on that shot from the point.

Re: Mailloux Recalled
When the 2nd period started he one short shift during the first 8 minutes. No idea why. He finally gets another shift and it turns into the 2.5 minute shift with a goal against.Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 21:32 pmThis by far was his best game this season. After the good 1st period, why was Mailloux not playing? It sure felt like a complete mismanagement of the player.

The problem with Mailloux is Tucker. You can afford to burp Mailloux if Tucker were .a more reliable partner even when paired with another vet. And offensively, a lot of our success came last year with scoring chances generated from our dmen when one took a chance knowing there was coverage on pinches. You do not have that type of pressure this season because of the lack of confidence in both youngsters. The idea that we are not missing a suter or leddy on the backend in the third pair is just wrong. We lose one of our top four d to injury and we are totally in the mix for gavin mckenna.

I never understood all those begging for Leddy to be moved and then celebrating when he was moved. Thought it was shortsighted at the time and now even more so. I mean at worst Tucker and Mailloux play well and you have a veteran 7th dman whose cup hit doesn’t matter. There is no way any astute fan thought Kessel was better than Leddy.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 21:55 pm The problem with Mailloux is Tucker. Yes. When Parayko went down a lot of those minutes were sopped up by Leddy. Our success without Parayko wasn't an accident nor our slow start last season with leddy on the ir. Real malpractice for the braintrust to go into the season with three ahl experienced d men in mailloux, kessel and tucker. Plenty of people on this board expressed reservations on that.
Re: Mailloux Recalled
He had some really good defensive plays, definitely looked more at home and certainly his best game of the year.Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 21:32 pm

I’ll agree as well. I hate that this team is such a mess, but I want to see Mailloux play every game at this point.if he makes a mistake, put him right back out there.

I was at the game last night and tried to focus on him when he was on the ice...I agree, he played pretty well overall. Definitely got caught out there on that one goal but wasn't completely on him. Other than that, he had a good stick breaking up plays, fairly confident with the puck although I still worry about how he treats it like a hand grenade from time to to time. I'm all in favor of keeping him in the lineup, why not.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 06:23 amdhsux wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 06:01 amHe had some really good defensive plays, definitely looked more at home and certainly his best game of the year.Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 21:32 pm

Re: Mailloux Recalled
Good points all of you. And he hustles to get back to D-zone very fast after attacking deep. His speed and size coming down the half boards deep into the O-zone is going to payoff eventually as he spreads the opponents D coverage. If our forwards go hard to the net, eventually with gaining confidence along with the forwards' expectation there are going to be pucks passed back out by him with the opposite side of net open for one-timers as the goalie tracks as well.sneptsmoustache wrote: ↑25 Nov 2025 06:49 amI was at the game last night and tried to focus on him when he was on the ice...I agree, he played pretty well overall. And Theo, you are just being you. If Buch had not deflected, maybe it would have gone in? The point is it was on the net, not 2 feet wide, it was a great chance. We had only 3 shots on goal during 4 minutes of continuous power play, with more than a minute of that with 6 skaters versus 4...and you focus in on this great chance/shot was deflected to draw away from what the kid brought to the game. Try to watch the and understand the game. I know it is hard for you. Go turn your chair, face the corner and be quiet.
Re: Mailloux Recalled
The thing that stands out about LM is obviously his noticeable size and he is a decent skater for his size. I can see why NHL teams want a guy like that. Hope he can put it together

Re: Mailloux Recalled
Idk its a shame he ended -2 i agree he could have made a play or two the 2nd goal wasnt on him he had his man. Benching him was not the right move in my view he did get in 13:59 mins which was a season high. I think LM would be in a better position on a team with a really good veteran LD side where he can incubated and allow to grow confidence. Hes going to struggle here with Tucker and or Monty mixing up the line pairs constantly, maybe he looks better next year with a better group
