Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.
We FINALLY get a good goalie performance and win after so many [shirt] shows... but no, God forbid one of our goalies goes on a run.
I am already so over Montgomery.

Montgomery is the least of this team's worries.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:44 pm Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.

I agree with starting Binnington again, but it would be amazing to get both goalies going.

Monty is the first of this teams problem. But he was hired because his "system" is in line with Hitch/Army.
There is a reason we only get the best after a coaching change. Because that's the only time the guys get to play outside a Hitch/Army system
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
I hate to break it to you but Binner didn’t play yday so his hot streak is already over.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:44 pm Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.

FYI, your argument is so dumb.

Im not agreeing with OP but That doesn’t make any sense. That’s like saying the 12 game win streak last year wasn’t actually a hot streak because they didn’t play 12 straight days.
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
That’s not comparable so let me explain.Banner29 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:22 pmGeneral wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:18 pmI hate to break it to you but Binner didn’t play yday so his hot streak is already over.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:44 pm Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.

Binner played Saturday and had a great game. The OP says he should play tonight bc he’s on a hot streak. My point is, why would not starting tonight end his “hot run” any more than an off day? Is it any different if they played on Saturday and their next game wasn’t until Wednesday which he starts? No.
Not starting Binner tonight isn’t going to impact how “hot” he will play. It’s just another off day and he’ll be back in goal Wednesday against the Devils.
I hope that was clear. Somewhat difficult explaining in writing.
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
It looks like the anti Monty train is just now starting to leave the station.
After half a score of other stops....it's now time for next stop at Montyland and we can all give him a good what for.

Meh, maybe to an extent I get your point. But I don’t put an off day in the same category of sitting on the bench the very next game after you have(regardless of how many off days in between) a great start. I(imo)think you’re undervaluing the mental aspect to it a bit. It can mess with the mental preparation, focus, feel for the game, you don’t want to just sit someone who may be “locked in.” Use the days off for rest, but as far as games go let him cook until he shows otherwise. Just as in any sport
With that being said, 1 game isn’t a long enough sample size so I do believe OP is being dramatic.
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
Minor injuries play in too. This is hockey and Binnington could have bad both legs amputated (lower body injury) and we’d not know.Banner29 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 18:02 pmGeneral wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:44 pmThat’s not comparable so let me explain.Banner29 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:22 pmGeneral wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 17:18 pmI hate to break it to you but Binner didn’t play yday so his hot streak is already over.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:44 pm Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.

Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
that off day explanation was something.
that's not how it works though, I agree with the OP actually on this, you need all the build and momentum you can get, and I would have gone back to Binner since there was a rest day in between plus zero travel, from the physical perspective. He did get the "day off" today because he didn't play in sequence with the team and the team and the goaltender are connected in hockey, they feed off each other. That honestly should have been noticed by everyone?

Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
Playing Binnington could help build confidence for him and the Team.
If you can get something to work try it again and get on a roll. Maybe get the "W" 's going again as a result.

Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
NHL network was questioning why he wasn’t starting. Everybody is talking about it.
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
I thought Binnington would start for sure. Monty is making some odd decisions in net this season.
Re: Why is Binnington sitting tonight?
I don't know. Just doesn't seem like a very good team. Maybe average at best. But that would also be Hitch/Army's fault. They really went after the wrong guys after the cup.Cahokanut wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 16:46 pmPoojols wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 16:15 pmMontgomery is the least of this team's worries.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:44 pm Montgomery pulling an Olli Marmol who goes out of his way to make sure none of his players can go on a hot run.
