Re: Pozo to be re-signed
update:
6:57pm: St. Louis officially announced that Pozo has been re-signed on a major league contract. It’s a split deal that pays different rates depending on whether the backstop is on the MLB roster or in Triple-A, according to Jeff Jones of The Belleville News-[political party]. This pushes their 40-man roster count to 38.

I understand that only an idiot rushes to make moves. He needs to make the best deal possible not the fastest deal possible that would be an idiot move. But I have full faith you will whine and cry no matter what he or anyone else in charge of the cardinals does. If he’s supposed to be dealing and has at least one of the hottest commodities on the market, then waiting for teams to fill whatever need they have is one less team in the market.

Less hmmmmmm nowramfandan wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 19:31 pmYES ! Pozo's new deal is a major league contract . The Post article posted just over half hour ago stated this :Strummer Jones wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 19:02 pm So...the official team Facebook says it's a major league deal.
Hmmmm....
By allowing Pozo to become a free agent, the Cardinals were able to restructure his contract and its structure in the minor leagues. Had he stayed on the roster, roster rules would have established what his contract looked like and his minor league salary as a player with major league service time. It's a two-way contract, and Pozo has options remaining, which means the Cardinals could use him at Class AAA Memphis.
Also looks like we brought back Robberse and signed the unfortunately named Scott Blewett to a minors deal.

Bloom needs to push the matter with his mid level MLB trade chips….dazzle the other party’s……and get it done BEFORE those spots are closed
No one thought the Rangers were offloading…..that maybe closes a couple doors that might have been looking at Cardinals. Why aren’t they waiting???
Apparently Seager on block too….losing partners…perhaps another team comes out tomorrow and wants to dump….more doors closed
Not sure how ya’ll can herald ALL these team wanting a Donovan and THEN claim it’s too early for action……

Pages, Herrera, Pozo, Crooks, Bernal
They better trade a catcher!
They also now have 21 position players and only 17 pitchers, which includes several pitchers who will still be injured on opening day.

Pozo and Pages are nothing more than a guy to give the starter a day off……hardly any value in a trade and can find any day of the week if looking for one.cardstatman wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 20:57 pm Pages, Herrera, Pozo, Crooks, Bernal

Scott Blewett has never been very good in AAA much less MLB.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 19:48 pm Also looks like we brought back Robberse and signed the unfortunately named Scott Blewett to a minors deal.
Fine for AAA, I guess, but Blewett was sidelined in mid-July 2025 with right elbow discomfort. He was truly awful from June to September.

Re: Pozo to be re-signed
I thought you had a pretty good take on the game but when you start slamming bloom for signing pozo and comparing him to mo when he just took over the team there are few big moves made until the December meetings when things really start heating up and think he should trade Donovan for the first offer just to get something done instead of getting the best deal possible yea I think you are just complaining just to complain. If I think his offseason sucks I’ll say it at the end of the offseason I’ll give him the offseason before I pass judgment on it I’m not going to slam him over signing pozo and start comparing him to mo because he didn’t make a panic move and trade Donovan for the first offer just because he’s scaredGoldfan wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 20:39 pmOz I used to think you had a pretty good take on the game……your repetitive “cry no matter what” is lazy and weak…..Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 19:39 pmI understand that only an idiot rushes to make moves.
