They are going to lose him in two years, he would like to be out of there now. If a deal presented itself, I would be willing to give up any one player in Springfield except for Stenberg. If they wanted Lindstein…done deal. I know they want NHL help so not sure we are a match for that.
I think Matheson is more likely, he’s older but he’s decent player, very active always involved with the play when he’s on the ice and the Blues have been interested in him for awhile just like they had some interest in Byram.

I'm generally ok with trading the players you mentioned but I wouldn't opt for this specific return, and no way I do that Schenn trade. Bjorkstrand? No. Good luck getting a 3rd for Tucker but if they would, yeah.

Just having some fun with moves from 2011. But I would seriously do Kyrou for Byram/Samuelsson and a 2nd. He can go play with his buddy Tage.

So either Hofer will figure out how to actually play the puck safely and effectively and maybe become a Mike Smith type of goalie, or he will continue his adventures behind the net, causing Buch faces and a declining career.
