Otto Steinberg
How good do you think he will be for the Blues in the future?

Re: Otto Steinberg
Can't spell Stenberg without 'Steen'
My biggest concern with him is that the Blues undervalue him the way the Leafs undervalued Steen and sold him to us cheap.

Re: Otto Steinberg
I like Otto.
Hope to see the brothers out there together in a couple of years.

20-25 goal solid two way effort guy fits into the Neighbours mold of lead by example guys who skate with skill and tenacity. Hoped to see him up this year Ive watched Springfield a few times Stenberg looks pretty good. The team is not good though so its hard to discern that Stenberg has stepped back based on his lack of production i trust the Blues will bring him up whens hes ready to play in the NHL every day

My observations of Stenberg this season is that he’s been fine. He’s more a playmaker than finisher though and his teammates are flubbing a lot of his passes. He’ll make a great pass that should result in a goal 80+% of the time but they’re consistently not going in. He should have 5-6 more assists IMO. The vets on the T-birds, and some of the prospects as well, are really letting the team down IMO.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 11:10 am 20-25 goal solid two way effort guy fits into the Neighbours mold of lead by example guys who skate with skill and tenacity. Re: Otto Steinberg
What i like the most about him and Dean (at the time), Kaskimaki these are guys that will play hard every single shift and they have some skill obviously Stenberg way more skill the others i mentioned but the point is they remind me of Neighbours. I think this is what Army wants to build hes just a couple years from getting there. Guys you dont have to remind to hustle its in their dna this is what wins in this era of the NHL where parity is key, teams are closely matched, out skating, out working teams, winning the forecheck battle. Right now the Blues have a handful of guys whether they are older (Schenn,Sunny) or inconsistent (Buch, Kyrou) the mix isnt right yet. Would love to see Stenberg get an extended look later this year i think the Blues may have a nice player in OttoSTL fan in MN wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 11:55 amMy observations of Stenberg this season is that he’s been fine. Re: Otto Steinberg
bring in Ivar and maybe it jump starts Otto's game...but Blues probably won't be picking Top 5, just feel they'll pull another long winning streak out their (donkey) and ruin their draft position.
Re: Otto Steinberg
I agree. They'll be close enough to sell some hope. Then army will once again get the vet defender and the 17th pick will be all ours.smilinjoefission wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 15:18 pm bring in Ivar and maybe it jump starts Otto's game...but Blues probably won't be picking Top 5, just feel they'll pull another long winning streak out their (donkey) and ruin their draft position.
While I don't want to sell off all the assets I also don't want to only be relying on goaltending.
Which is what we are. We go as far as Binny takes us.

Re: Otto Steinberg
If this roster continues to flounder i would look to sell
Schenn
Buchnevich
Binnington
Fowler
Sunny
Bjugstad
Walker
Toropchenko
Of course Army wouldnt be able to nor would he want to sell off all of these players. I would keep everyone else, Faulk is needed until a RHD unseats him, gather up a bunch of 1st rounders and prospects again because this mix of players isnt working

Re: Otto Steinberg
Who cares - he's played 52 games in the AHL and he has 6 total goals on just 75 total shots. He's a depth guy/4th liner. If everything goes right and he finds more offense, maybe his ceiling is a 3rd line center - but that's looking very unlikely.
Re: Otto Steinberg
Penciling him in for 20-25 goals in the NHL feels bold when...you know...he has 6 total goals in two seasons in the AHL. Comparing him to Neighbours? Neighbours had 9 goals in 23 AHL games. Stenberg has 6 goals in 52 AHL games.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑24 Nov 2025 11:10 am 20-25 goal solid two way effort guy fits into the Neighbours mold of lead by example guys who skate with skill and tenacity. Re: Otto Steinberg
Lol, he isnt a center, hes a on [shirt]ty AHL team, maybe watch some games and not rely on a stat line. Last year on a better team he had 5gs in 38 games so did he get really bad over the summer? No more Sylvegard no MacEachern, Dvorksy, all gone

Re: Otto Steinberg
Yeah, but that's cool the rink in Forest Park is named after him. Don't we have a coach named Steve Otto?
