Mailloux honks unite! Oh yeah Tucker on the 2nd D pairing. Will Buch set a new minutes record?

I’m trying to figure out if the 2nd or 3rd d pair is more scary looking on paper.

Faulk has been playing really well. The top 4 has a chance to be really good. They just let Texier walk and the contract got terminated. How is there not some sideways 1 person vet signing/trade that can be made to just throw someone who isn't terrible on the 3rd line. EVEN if LM plays well with Fowler, the Faulk pairing just got significantly worse. Faulk has been playing good offense, Tucker is a weight. It only worked last year with Tucker and Suter because Suter was so responsible defensively.

This is just a problem they keep kicking the can on.

Fowler and Mailloux is what I’ve been calling for. Now just upgrade the LD2 with Byram or Matheson and then we will be good to go

The Blues have a serious problem with defense. Ryan Suter is sorely missed. I don’t think he is signed or playing anywhere. Perhaps we can coax one more season out of that guy. Until that third line is stabilzed we are bottom feeders.

We are now in the Mailloux 2.0 era. Expectations have been reset to very low. Maybe he surprises us? 1st point or goal as a Blue at MSG would be pretty cool

I can picture him skating/playing in his hometown every day for the past 2-3 months. They might have told him a month ago to start training.

He never announced his retirement

With Texier off the books the Blues have some wiggle room to add someone that can bring something to that third line.

I predict that tonight is the night that Buchnevich buries one!

Ok, it’s more likely that one bounces off of him if he stands in front of the net……but tonight is the night!

The gates are open, inmates running amok.

No 40-plus semi-retired veteran is going to move the needle on defense.

Tucker is not a cornerstone player, he has to earn the right to stay in the NHL every game he plays. I hold the view people are running with Monty's kind words last season, need to maintain appropriate sense of context.

Tucker + Mailloux was a train wreck. Lesson learned.

In the meantime, awaiting development of some prospects, Tucker, Kessel, and company are filler. Hopefully Mailloux can acceptably grasp the mental part of the game and begin to flash some of his physical gifts. Until he does he's also a problem.

Lastly, Parayko + Fowler = ZERO goals a quarter of the way through the season. That is not aacceptable.

So, maybe Army makes a move, maybe not. We may not know what he has up his sleeve until it happens.

Kyrou , Neighbours gonna score.
Buch and Schenn get assists--Dvorsky score.

Win 3-1.
Buch will play well again and play 18 minutes and be a plus player with 1 assist. Will face criticism for not scoring.

Are there any other forwards in the NHL with 2 goals/0 even strength goals, who regularly lead their team in forward ATOI?

Maybe our leading scorer plays more than 12 min a game. We might score more than two. Another head scratcher by Monty.
