Ohio State resting starters vs Rutgers today

Post by rezero »

Ohio State is going to be without 6 starters today with 3 on offense and 3 on defense. These include both starting WRs Tate and Smith. ESPN reports both “could play” but they are not wanting to risk it with Michigan and the Big10 Championship coming up.

People talk about the SEC vs Big10, but there are zero good teams in the Big10 once you get past OSU, Oregon, and Indiana and Ohio State plays neither of the other two. Between all three of these school combined they will only play ONE top 20 game (Indiana vs Oregon). Ohio State will finish without playing any top 20 teams.

It is a huge luxury in preparing for the CFP when you can rest players because you are a 45pt favorite. The CFP is a joke when it only looks at schedule and no regard for difficulty of play.

I've said before the SEC is a victim of its own success.

Conference playoff participants should be limited based on the schedule and conference they play in.

The Big 10 for instance should only get two entries based on their schedules.

Buckeyes 14, Texas 7, when Texas was ESECPN’s preseason #1. Also defeated State Penn.
Will play scum next Saturday.

Right now the SEC is getting five teams into the playoff. That's not a victim of success. It's a RESULT of success.

And if Oregon trips either today or at Washington, then it very well could be just two Big 10 teams

This is the closest thing to a prediction you’ve ever made. Looks like you’re predicting a Mizzou loss in Norman.

Both Texas and Penn State are horrible and doubt either will finish year inside top 25.

Yep 14-7 and Manning played horrible. Texas is the 7th best team in the SEC and had an off night for OSU to win.

It's December and you're still a gutless (buzz).

If I had to quote how many times you have been wrong
under your multiple screen names we'd be here forever.

My point still stands. Adding a conference game to pacify the networks and the almighty dollar will do more to hurt the number of SEC teams making the playoffs in the future.

I will ask you what I have asked several on this forum, but none have had the guts to provide any evidence.
