17 years in a row he hit at least one HR and his last he hit was at 43 years of age.

And of course, the legendary game where he and Marichal 16 inning game in which Marichal threw 227 pitches and Spahn 201. The score ended 1 - 0 Giants on a walk off Willie Mays home run in the bottom of 16th inning.

How is that good?
With a little effort you can find this information for yourself, but since you are lazy today read on:
Spahn was also a good hitter, with at least one home run in 17 straight seasons, and finishing with an NL career record for pitchers who do not play any other position, with 35 home runs. Wes Ferrell, who spent most of his time in the American League, holds the overall record for pitchers, with 37. Spahn posted a .194 batting average (363-for-1872) with 141 runs, 57 doubles, six triples, 94 walks, and 189 runs batted in (RBIs). He also drove in 10 or more runs nine times, with a career-high 18 in 1951. In 1958, he batted a strong .333 (36-for-108). In eight World Series games, he batted .200 (4-for-20) with four RBIs and a walk.
LMAO..he is not a good hitter. you posted his stat's. That's horrible  career 43 OPS+! you think that is a good hitter?
The only thing that I am convinced of is that you are the biggest as-$ on this forum.
Spahn’s teammate Lew Burdette was one of the best hitting pitchers of all time.

Including Willie's first career hit, a home run off Spahn

Cy Young 511 wins
Walter Johnson 417 wins
Grover Alexander 373 wins
Christy Mathewson 373 wins
Warren Spahn 363 wins

Spahn didn't win his first ML game until he was 25, because of serving in WWII.

13 times he won 20 or more games in a season.

At 42 years old he was 23 - 7.

I was lucky to have seen him pitch and have to have met him and had a beer with him.
If he were a modern day Cardinals people here would demand we trade him for prospects as soon as he hit age 30.

Not really. He did have a few good years. An 18 year career.

12 HRs
75 RBI
.183 Avg.
.216 OBP

Not as good as Spahn.

I remember Don Newcombe with the Dodgers could really hit.

12 year career:

15 HR
109 RBI
.268 Avg.
.336 OPB

I believe Spahn once claimed his best approach vs Musial was to walk him on 4 pitches and then pick him off first.

Drysdale was a decent hitter. Had 7 home runs in 66 at bats one year. Amazing for a pitcher.

Gibson was considered a good-hitting pitcher. Some thought Waino was too.
Careers:
Gibby - .206/.243/.301/.544. 24 HRs 144 RBI
Spahn - .194/.234/.287/.521. 35 HRs 189 RBI
Waino - .194/.221/.293/.514. 10 HRs 55 RBI

There's a reason they instituted the DH...

Mostly due to longevity, Spahn has the most RBI of any pitcher as a hitter from 1945 until the DH -- and 2nd most HR. Gibby is 5th in RBI.

I remember reading somewhere that there were a few seasons that Gibson had a better batting average than hitters did vs. himself. But I don't feeling like looking it up, you guys can verify it yourselves.

Incredibly high leg kick. Leaned back so far that several times his knuckles hit the dirt.

Another pitcher said his strategy was to throw his best pitch to Stan, then back up third base.
