Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
I enjoyed JoWeeee Vitale explaining that Interstellar is a movie about time travel. That has to be the most dumbed down explanations of a masterpiece that I've ever heard in my life... That's like calling Shawshank a movie about people that mop tar on a rooftop.
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
Oh my that Vitale is the worst in the NHL. Just tone it down a bit buddy and stick to explaining some X's and O's about action on the ice since you are former NHL'er.
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
I wanna know if they have some clause in their contract that calls for a certain amount of analogies per game. It seems like every game there are more and more and half the time they start one and don't even know where they are going with it. "wow Walker got out of that jumble, he's as greasy as a pig in a barnyard sty going to feed on........ wells hes greasy is my point"
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
My advice to him just for starters is to talk less and when you do speak ratchet down like 4 notches.
The energy bunny thing not good.

Yep. It's awful.rcasher wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 12:21 pm I wanna know if they have some clause in their contract that calls for a certain amount of analogies per game. It bugs me that these guys are not trying to be better. They've read all the [shirt] being said and they double down on it. It seems like they are Trolling the Fans who support the team.
It's distracting from keeping up with the game and not at all entertaining.
If anyone is willing to call the game live somehow, somewhere on the internet. Id be the first to give you a audience.

I think it is obvious that the simulcast situation is not working. We were spoiled with the Kelly's and Ken Wilson, who stuck to the on-ice action without long periods of silence from either Kerber or Vitale. And when they do talk, much of it is irrelevant to the game. Hopefully, this will be evaluated at the end of the season, and the Blues will go back to having both TV and radio broadcast teams. The question then will be, who will they hire for the booth. Sometimes, you don't know what you have until it's gone.
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
I give them props for talking about Affton having the best breakfast sandwiches......
Actually the woman who makes them has been there forever and they are pretty good!
Otherwise I now see what I am missing listening to them on the radio when I can't watch on TV. They miss a lot when they are rambling on about anything other than the game. At least watching on TV you can see what's going on. But this highlights how poor the radio broadcast really is.

It's like watching a game at a bar with two drunk friends next to you rambling on about anything and everything.
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
Well I was wrong months ago, when I said that all I focus on is the play on the ice, so I wasn't too worked up about announcers...these guys are horrible. Minutes at a time of no play-by-play with ridiculous irrelevant stuff instead. I know our players, but with some of the opponents the assist from the announcers as to whom made a play, etc. is needed.
Take a poorly executing team and throw in these two amateur clowns, and ownership is going to have a major ticket sales fiasco as well as advertisement ratings on TV.
They need to fix both soon. I have faith in the players figuring it out, hopefully not too late. But the announcers should have no future in the Blues booth.

Yeah I caught that, but did you hear Kerbs say something about standing outside Fast Eddie's until he was 21? Kerbs was talking Alton, Vitale talking Affton, and no one is talking about the play on the ice!stljrs wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 13:19 pm I give them props for talking about Affton having the best breakfast sandwiches......![]()

Hate to say some of us told you so.
Frankly I don't know how Kerber ever got a job doing anything but small market hockey or bagging groceries.
Its even worse than I thought it was going to be.

they are big fans of themselves, so they have that going.
And i could care less about stories like the story of lady making breakfast sammies. tid bits are ok sprinkled in, it's the other 90 minutes of garbage they spew.

No. You ain't getting offered s**t looking desperate and calling them.Backesdraft wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 21:46 pm If you’re Army, are you calling teams and saying “everyone outside of Dvo, Carb, and Snuggy is in play? Who do you want and what are you offering?”
Re: P U Blues STINK & so does the broadcast
Agree to the extent that their sidebars sometimes affect the calling of the game, but if I'm watching, I have no need to have someone tell me what I already see for myself.
And I'd rather be distracted by comments about Affton hockey than those about the Ottawa 67s.
