My wife: "Why is Schenn out in OT, wheres Dvorsky"
While i certainly cant put too much blame on Monty she kinda nails an issue right now, continuing to put guys in key situations who are either, past their prime, not skilled enough or cold as ice.
Granted Dvorsky has done literally NOTHING 5v5 doesnt drive the offense at all but he is certainly one of the most skilled Blues forwards and whether Monty knows it or not, OT is about skill and scoring. You dont need to put a 34 year old Schenn out there, who cant shoot, pass or skate anymore. Dont need to see Sunny or Torop or any of those guys. Even Buch, why throw him out there when he is an epic cold streak why reward him at all? Thomas, Snuggerud, Kyrou, Holloway, Dvorsky with Faulk, Broberg, Fowler then maybe Parayko.
Really frustrated with the overly conservative nod to the veterans who cant really do much any more

As someone posted last night, we are now 0-5 in OT. If that isn't a sign to try something new, I don't know what is.

Schenn, Parayko, Buch, why keep throwing these guys out there they cant do anything they arent dynamic thats a coaching issue. May as well turn this over to Snuggerud and Dvorsky no one else seems to possess much skill at allFrank Underwood wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 08:33 am As someone posted last night, we are now 0-5 in OT. Sheesh. Wake me up when Dvorsky does ANYTHING offensively besides firing off one-timers on the PP.

I don't know why it looked like Monty and Ott were confused in who to send out there. It's like they never practice 3v3 although that's distinctly possible given how bad they look at it. Should have three or four distinct 3 line combos that practice together. Something like:
Thomas-Snugg-Parayko
Dvo-Kyrou-Fowler
Schenn-Holloway-Broberg
Suter-Neighbours-Faulk
This shouldn't be OMG who do we throw out there now like we're surprised we are in OT.

Notice how once the NHLers got their skating game going on Bolduc stopped being the reincarnation of Brett Hull. Divorce ski is still catching up to the NHLers and in short while will be adjusted.

Your point is??? That would ALL be on the PP, his current PP scoring pace is not likely sustainable over a full season. I'm all for it if it is, but I wouldn't bet a plugged nickel on it.Backesdraft wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 12:00 pmI’m not saying we should bronze Dvo out in front of Enterprise or anything but, over an 82 game span, he’d be on pace for 25 goals.
Just saying…
Zero (ES) unfortunately projects to zero. He'll eventually get on the board at even strength but when he does the projection will then be single digit ES points.
My observation, offensively, is he facilitates zone entry, passes, and drifts waiting for a pass. He backs out of o-zone board battles when he's not a small guy and at age 20 should have boundless energy. He needs to shed the passivity and get aggressive, there is no Adam Oates out there feeding him.
Re: My wife: "Why is Schenn out in OT, wheres Dvorsky"
Agree.
Though the whole team seems to be playing a defensive role and with our defense style vets getting most of the ice if leading in the second. Is he doing what he is being told, so to stay with the team or playing his game.
I don't know. But it looks a lot like his game to me. Point being is we all know Schenn shouldn't be out there. We'd like to see if dvorsky does.

They said the same about Faulk and Krug when they signed them.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 09:59 amOn the day he came up 101 interviewed the team pbp guy and he basically described DD as a power play specialist at this point in his career.

I can't read lips, but I did see the quick eye roll & smirk when they nodded/discussed one of the players. It was a TV close up of the coaches, so I don't which player it was.LGB73 wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 09:55 am I don't know why it looked like Monty and Ott were confused in who to send out there. Re: My wife: "Why is Schenn out in OT, wheres Dvorsky"
Well, you would think during a 3 on 3 situation, you could spread out the opponents so that one of us could feed him for one of those one-timers.
Also, I do not have the stats facts to confirm, but it seems like he might have the highest face-off wins percentage for us?
Re: My wife: "Why is Schenn out in OT, wheres Dvorsky"
I think DVO was pretty good in Springfield in 3 on 3 situations and had at least one overtime winner last year.
