Re: Tomisino on Waiver
If we're gonna take that guy off their hands when they already have so many out of the lineup and have played Kevin Hayes while being 10-5 and 3rd in their division in their last years with their franchise players, we might as well sell them on some of our vets and make this a trade where we land Kindel or some draft picks while we dump some cap on them.
Alright how's about Tomisino, Kindel, 1st, and 2nd for Schenn, Kyrou, and Buch?
Their current lineup on puckpedia shows Kevin Hayes next to Evgeni Malkin, so even Buch might even be an upgrade to their 2nd line next to the fellow Russian who is the 2nd highest scorer in NHL history from their country.
Seems reasonable, right?

I read the comment about putting Buchnevich with the Malkin because they’re Russian. I’ve said this for a long time on this website that I thought that Buchnevich lost his edge and has not looked happy or played well since his Russian buddies left. First it was Tarasenko. Then Barbashev and it has not been the same with him since.

Then why did Buchnevich sign the extension well after a year that they left the team?Russdv14 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 22:31 pm I read the comment about putting Buchnevich with the Malkin because they’re Russian. I know some would say money, but if he wasn't happy about russians being traded, why would he sign to be miserable?
Re: Tomisino on Waiver
Somni-I’ve asked that question to myself several times since Buchnevich re-signed with the team. Why did he sign a long term contract only to look like he isn’t happy? . Monty says Buch is very funny and (like a kid) tries to make him happy. That seems to be why he won’t bench him. I still contend he was less moody when the other 2 Russian buddies are with him.
So why did he re-sign with us? Maybe like so many Americanized players from socialist countries…money!
They learned to be Capitalists. Now maybe he needs a girlfriend!

I'm guessing there were 8 million reasons. People will endure a lot for a raise like that.somni wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 23:17 pmThen why did Buchnevich sign the extension well after a year that they left the team?Russdv14 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 22:31 pm I read the comment about putting Buchnevich with the Malkin because they’re Russian.
