I have never witnessed anything like 89! The only comparison that I can come up with is Nolan Arenado in baseball. All-star one year and then simply falls off a cliff. Buch was not an all-star but he was a pretty valuable player for several years. If hockey used Wins Above Replacement for player evaluations, with SCRUB being 0-1 War, somehow I think Buch would deserve his own category below SCRUB! Pathetic comes to mind. Does Monty think he can play the stink out of him or something? The undeserving ice time that this guy gets has me baffled? I thought Monty was supposed to be this great hockey coach, but some of his decisions are just hard to comprehend!

Clearly Buch is playing the game coach is asking from him.

When you go into a turtle after taking a two goal lead in the second period. You need the buy in from players. This is why the guy who can score 40 is benched, and the guy who plays third or fourth defender is banking time.

The last 2 games reminded us how he picks up so many points every season despite stretches of terrible play every year to go along with screw ups when he’s playing well. Smart player overall
