Good fit for him. They have plenty of money and much easier landscape than Big10.

Thought it interesting that Franklin snubbed FL and the SEC with its parochial bias and craziness. VT and the ACC should be almost a cake walk.

Don't forget that Franklin's done the SEC already. He led Vanderbilt to bowl wins and top-25 rankings a decade ago.

This saved Penn State $40m. They originally owed Franklin $49m, but now the two parties have settled for a $9m buyout as part of the mitigated buyout clause in Franklin's PSU contract.

Franklin's contract required him to "diligently search" for a new job in coaching or broadcasting. Any salary earned from that new position would have reduced, or "offset," the amount Penn State owed him.

The SEC now is much different and more competitive.

Franklin's road to a playoff spot will be much easier through the ACC.

Sure. The line I heard was that Franklin's history of losing to top-10 teams wouldn't matter since there aren't any in the ACC.

VT and Franklin should win the ACC. The SEC with its parochial bias only cares if the usual ones are in.
