This is not important for a few reasons:
One Cards are rebuilding not competing in a year or two most likely.
Balanced schedule as mentioned.
Three expanded wild card alleviates stress of winning division to make a run.
Bloom studying possibility of trades within the division.

Re: Bloom studying possibility of trades within the division.
I think bottom feeders trading within a division can make sense. Especially with the aforementioned balanced schedules.
If Cards and Pirates made some win-win trades with each other that were effective enough to have them fighting it out for first place in a few years, I don’t think either side would have any regrets.
However, if a 1st and 2nd place team within a division does the same, and the 2nd place team overtakes the 1st place team, it’s a fireable offense for the losing GM.
So how about it…a package centered around Skenes for Wetherholt? Lol

Keller would be a good fit for St. Louis, but would they be willing to sign him long term, yet?

If I'm talking to the Pirates, and not being silly (Skenes), I'm asking about Jared Jones.

Hunter Barco looks nice...billybaseball wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 08:55 amThey just had a prospect blow up in the AFL. Valdez. He was generally considered a fringe top 10 prospect in their system before so maybe him. But they have a ton of pitching to chose from also.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 08:02 amWhat would you like to see come back from them?billybaseball wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 08:00 am Donovan would be a good fit for the Pirates. They have the type of farm you'd love to raid too
