With Hughes out for 6 weeks, I’m looking at a deal with the Devils for a roster player and a prospect like Mason Moe or Herman Traff

This roadie couldn't come at a better time.
If Army is thinking trade to shake things up, my bet is Steen has told him to wait to see if the players can work this out during the trip.
we'll see.

Re: Difficult roadtrip coming up
I'm just not seeing it. The only thing close to top end talent on the Blues is Thomas (arguably Kyrou but he's never been consistent with it and beef with management/coaching has likely soured his capability here). There are some decent players like Parayko, Neighbors, Faulk, Fowler, and some promising youth in Snuggerud and Dvorsky. A couple question marks in Broberg and Holloway. Buch and Schenn are cooked. But where are the impact players? The kind of players that are either top of their position leaguewide, or play such a big game that collectively they outpace their individual skills? That Steen Backes Oshie line from years past would chew this current squad up and spit em out. Bouw and Petro would dominate the ice against this squad. There are no players like them on this team now, at least not enough of them to make an impact consistently. It's a mess of a team, I haven't liked our lineup since 2020 at all and every year it gets worse.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 08:27 amNSH fans are prolly saying the same thingBackesdraft wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 07:50 am Tied with NSH for the 2nd worst winning percentage in the entire league. looking at both rosters, way too much talent to be this bad
Re: Difficult roadtrip coming up
No question, it's becoming difficult to consistently watch. Saw the game live last Saturday in St. Louis, and for half the game, Blues played like gang-busters. While Hofer played well, he gave up an easy goal ("through" him) at exactly the wrong time.
Either Pronger on a telecast or Hull on ESPN radio said Blues have put together great pieces, but not the whole at the same time. Is this roster able to do the latter?
I don't know, but only six points out of wild card. Need a "Gloria" moment? A Bortuzzo moment? (linked below solely for entertainment purposes!) Seems very few show much passion, or is that perception because they are clueless in what they're doing?

Yep, what use is there with a big D core if they play with purses. This ‘team’ just doesn’t have heart and killer instinct.TheHighHat wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 06:20 amYou're correct.11WSChamps wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 23:18 pm Blues have the worst third pairing defense in the league.
Don't have one forward who can go into the corner and win a puck battle, not [redacted]' one.
Soft is an understatement describing this team.
Also, is there a softer top 4 d-men group in the league than the Blues?
44 hits combined.
Fowler only has 2.
Opposing teams have zero fear entering our zone, going into the corners, and setting up shop in front of the net.

Re: Difficult roadtrip coming up
I was poking and prodding people with it last year. I basically was saying it was a funny hill for fans to die on saying "it was the reason we threw away late leads." "every time we play country roads we lose!!" etc etc... My stance is that you shouldn't be complaining about things that bring fan engagement. Kids love the PP dance and I think that is silly. But the kids love it so who cares. There was a pretty big contingent of fans who at games liked singing country roads so who cares. Gloria really should have been something that continued, was a mistake by the roster to request it to be for that one team. Could have been a nice call back that respected that team and started a winning tradition.icon wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 02:36 amC'mon, getting rid of Country Roads was overdue. You don't play lullaby-like songs at a hockey game. Need music with energy. Like AC-DC. Not freaking John Denver. Gag.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 23:01 pmI can't see anything happening. Tonights game was gross. After the first 10 minutes it was another 20 before it was even watchable. I might be a bit excessive in how much I can't stand kessels play, (could be more a product of both him and tucker together) but the only real space the Blues can make a move that would be seemingly cheap enough to pull off would be to acquire a 3rd pairing defensemen. I don't really know who would be in the market for the Blues forwards that we could even offload someone for a shakeup.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 21:40 pmNot sure a big trade is coming but as a fan I expect something to be done tomorrow or Monday before this trip
If anything, a long road trip is welcome. Needed to get points tonight. 7 of 10 or 8 of 10 sounds a heck of a lot better than 6 of 10 on that homestand. But road trips can bring teams together by pulling them away from distraction. Even if the Blues went on a run here, there's no evidence they are mentally strong enough for that to galvanize their home game. Last year my running joke was the Blues couldn't win at home. Way to go getting rid of Country Roads. Well this year they really can't win at home. 3 wins - 5 regulation losses - 4 OTL losses all at home. 3-4 on the road.
Anyways I digress. I don't really care that country roads is gone. I just find it funny that for the first time in the Blues history, they are struggling to be a good home team. And it has happened to start the season 2 years in a row. We were bad at home to start last year, and we are bad again.

This is my expectation as well.
At the same time significant trades aren’t that common, so if Army comes across a good deal he needs to make it regardless. Perhaps the only question is direction — sell or try to make it work.

The whole schedule will be difficult for this team. Very congested and unforgiving.
These boys are in trouble.
