What "kids" make the Blues next year?
Maybe we can switch up the narrative since this team is stinking it up. Who are your wildcard guesses? Lindstein and Stenberg will have a shot although they are both somewhat struggling now.
Carbonneau and Jiricek to the AHL for a stint? Does Mailloux start to put it together? Perhaps a long shot top 5 pick makes it? Is McKenna NHL ready at 18 years old, that may be a reach. What are your thoughts?

Lindstein, Stenberg, Stenberg, Skinner. Possibly Pekarcik. Maybe some 4th line turnover (Peterson or Kaskimaki).
Stancl - the Blues reporters are every ounce as lazy and bad as every layer of the organization so they have no idea and no insight into why this significant prospect hasn't played. JR and Lou are lazy and jam lard in their gullets instead of texting for the answer to do their rudimentary jobs. Blues reporting could have been so much better for so many years, but instead we have these schmos. I would have worked circles around these guys if I'd ended up doing it. The output would have been thoughtful and comprehensive instead of what we get.
I'm currently catching up with Jiricek's game Saturday and his first three shifts so far are getting me to think maybe we can trade him for Ben Danford? That would be smart if we could do that. We probably won't do that but I am thinking I really have to switch and watch Ralph's games as the focus. I just need to watch a defenseman DEFEND the puck where it's Parayko ish. I get it Jiricek is a dynamic shot offensive attacker on a loaded star team that can dominate long stretches in the o zone. When it's the other way I have little confidence in him. He will definitely turn the puck over in his own zone. Brampton is a walkover opponent and their 17 and 18 year old children are forcing him to make turnovers (or he is trying to make the hero play and it fails).
I have to believe those 5 periods of Lindstein mess were an outlier given all that I have seen otherwise. That said, I haven't caught up with Saturday's game either.
If Pekarcik keeps playing like he has he's going to get a callup for a cup of coffee this season then get sent back down to keep building. Think of how Toropchenko skates when he is playing his A game, that is Pekarcik's skating relative to opponents at the moment. He has much more offensive touch than Toropchenko. I worried about his ability to get knocked off the puck relatively easily for his size which was evident last season, and it seemed to be a center of gravity thing in his skating. I am not seeing this right now so I'm becoming more enthused.
I am hopeful about Skinner. Really not sure why Montgomery pulled him out against Vegas. Just to reconfirm Tucker and Kessel do not belong in the NHL? We already knew that. We extra know it today.
This Blues team is so unlikable and so soft. The best they can hope for is that Steen punts Buch and Kyrou into the sun. Schenn? Good run buddy but it is over. Then they could build around three centers - Thomas (who has sucked this season, sucked), Dvorsky, and an elite center who they draft with the second third or fourth pick. This Blues team is one of the worst four teams in the NHL this season.

Jiricek is looking more and more like a bluechipper, 4th in the OHL in dman points and rising he could probably have played in the AHL this year, i wouldnt trade him unless its for something far more than Danford.
Lindstein, Stenberg, Stenberg, Skinner. Possibly Pekarcik.
I could see this but thats a lot of kids idk that feels like a top 5 draft again.

Neighbours Thomas Snuggerud - looking like a legit 1st line
Holloway Dvorsky Kyrou - not sure the Blues deal Kyrou, they need scorers hes among the most dynamic RWs in the game WHEN HES GOING
O. Stenberg Lawrence Buchnevich - i dont see any takers for Buch, given the production and deal, Blues finish a little higher than 5th and take the fast, skilled center.
Walker Suter Bjugstad -
Gotta turn the page on Schenn, Sunny, Torop, Texier,

Blues aren’t trading Jiricek and surely not for Danford. Maybe if the Leafs desperate you might get him in a deal for Schenn. Leafs aren’t a good trade partner for us though and rumor is they aren’t interested in moving what’s left of their prospects. I’m still looking at the Devils as a decent trade partner for us.

Unfortunately, Jiricek is not looking more and more like a blue chipper. He looks like a one dimensional defenseman putting up points that shallowly appear to be a sign of blue chip potential. His team has literally not lost in regulation, assuming they don't lose this one I'm watching. They are constantly an offensive threat almost every line. It is a pure outlier team situation that is boosting tons of his points. They have a near 50% PP. Danford has elite defensive zone reactions and has a big, solid body. He's going to take the #1 job for the critical situations for that team. Jiricek helps you attack but when the chips are down you're coin flipping for outcomes.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 11:08 am Jiricek is looking more and more like a bluechipper, 4th in the OHL in dman points and rising he could probably have played in the AHL this year, i wouldnt trade him unless its for something far more than Danford.

In reality, probably "none of the above" make a difference in any significant way. NHL team won't win anything but a top-5 pick loaded down with 19-22 year old players.

But having top 5 picks will lead us back to the cup! I do not follow prospects at all to make a call, but do look forward to Carb being on the team in the future.
I am very disappointed in our Top 5 pick GM not pointing out this article

As much as people say thomas is untouchable, i personally dont think his neck will make it through a couple more bad years. Everytime something doesnt go his way he just stares into the bleachers.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 12:08 pmThat's what the Blues need - multiple years of picking in the top 8 or lower.
Could be the perfect time for a real rebuild. Its not like we have to start from scratch. We have prospects we are already waiting on. If you do not think you are a legit contender in 2 seasons then idk why you hold onto thomas or parayko.

Meh, a little pessimistic for me but i see this sometimes from forum prospect "experts". Without injury Jiricek isnt even available to the Blues in the draft. He is a very gifted two way guy that is developing for Jay Mckee right now. True he wont be tested much this season he needs to get to either the Blues or the AHL where he will continue to refine his gameseattleblue wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 11:19 amUnfortunately, Jiricek is not looking more and more like a blue chipper. If the year continues as is. I hope to see most of those kids before year's end.

He's not a very gifted two way guy. I know you read that he is and you've already made your authority hierarchy call since you have to take it from other people, but that doesn't change realityHarry S Deals wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 12:31 pmMeh, a little pessimistic for me but i see this sometimes from forum prospect "experts".
