He loves it here and has made it clear, even though he'd "listen", he wants to stay and help the kids w/the re-build.
I hope he stays!
He gets hit deliberately on the elbow pad and then blames his teammates. That's leadership? He should learn how to skate and take up hockey if he wants to fight. Baseball isn't ice hockey.![]()

He's a distraction. Move him for a ballplayer.

Gets hit on the elbow pad on purpose and then cries that his teammates aren't backing him up. Ban elbow pads and his HBP would go to 0.ecleme22 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 09:10 amWhat drama?ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 08:17 amI'm not a fan of that much drama.ecleme22 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 12:45 pmThis argument has two sides:ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 11:43 amHe Doesn't spin away. a pitch inside he lets it hit his elbow pad. He “led” them to 78 wins and a fourth place finish ….scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 11:41 amthe only leader on the team...he staysrockondlouie wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 11:36 am WillyC is going nowhere (IMO).

Given his age, and his salary, that seems to be the kind of leadership the club can do without…
Re: Been quiet on Contreras .. Might he be moved this winter ?
The more I read various scenarios regarding Contreras , I come back to this ... He wants to remain with the team he told Bloom ( I applaud him for that ) Sonny Gray also did n 2024 but after 2025 could see things had changed.
Contreas may be in the same spot. He wants to mentor the young guys he said but after a year of doing that , he may also think more about his personal future too . Also his full no trade clause expires after this year . With just a 10 team list 'no trade' , Bloom has more flexibility if he tells Contreras it's time for another fit .(just like with Nolan Arenado ). While a good player , Contreras is not the future of Bloom's rebuild plans.
Like Arenado and Gray , he may see the writing on the wall for himself too. These guys are 'profesiional baseball players' They understand the 'business ' part of it very well.

I think they try very hard to trade him just because of his salary. We may be looking at Pirate/Ray type of payroll next year.ramfandan wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 16:36 pm The more I read various scenarios regarding Contreras , I come back to this ... Contreras is the first one you trade.
If you can't trade Arenado and you keep Donovan, then Donny can play LF.
JJ 2B.
