so what has Edmonton won lately ? nothing. They would finally get a playoff goalie//a top four defenseman, and Kyrou playing wing with McDavid is going to get 35-45 goals. Edmonton is treading down right now// there is talk of making a coaching change after 2 years to the finals ??

No they won't trade Draisaitl because they have no idea if they'll have McDavid past the tdl next season.

They know they have Drai for 7 more years.

There aren't many teams who can absorb losing a Connor McDavid, but Edmonton is one of the few.

if getting to cup finals is a failure, then 31 teams are a failure each year or worse. florida just are tuat team. edmonton isnt bad.

also careful on saying edmonton is trending wrong direction. the oilers started out the last 2 years far colder than they did this year.

they do need a goalie upgrade but binny hasnt exactly set world on fire this year amd if they want a goalie upgrsde they dont need to trade away draisaitl to get it. also losing draisaitl hurts more than a goalie upgrade.

This deal is a pipe dream but for the record McDavid’s extension starts next season. So they’ve got this year and next season with him in full. It’s 27-28 when they have to start worrying again.

But really trading Drai would probably just guarantee that McDavid would want out.

Draisaitl COULD be Scottie Pippin: a great player, but without Jordan, unable to carry the load. Plus, without Parayko and Binnington, an already porous Blues defense already becomes worse.

The Blues could get more trading Binner, Colton and Kyrou separately. I would rather roll four lines that can hurt another team than one great scoring line. I'm not against a trade, but not this one.

Well I say hell no. What a dumb trade idea.

Drai is expensive and getting old — out of prime — so def a win now move. Trading away the Blues top dman and goaltender would make this a lateral move at best.

I would trade JK, Buch, and an average prospect

I am pretty certain that Edmonton wants more for Leon Draisaitl and I am pretty certain that the Blues wouldn't want to pay the price for him. Its just the wrong move, our focus should be how we improve top notch talent for the future, not putting patches over gaping holes.

Exactly. Oilers have won 29 playoff games pas two seasons. Pretty remarkable.
