Bloom says Arenado has been a 'total pro' in trade discussions
St. Louis Cardinals President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom described Nolan Arenado as a "total pro" regarding trade discussions this offseason. Both the team and the player are in agreement that it makes sense to find a different fit for him, and Arenado has been cooperative in exploring trade possibilities.
Bloom stated the situation has been handled openly: "We’ve been pretty open about this, and we are on the same page with Nolan. ... He’s been a total pro about it".
Good to see our new POBO being very open with players and in return the players working with Bloom.

Arenado probably appreciates someone being open and honest. I doubt Mozeliak ever was. He probably told Arenado a pile of b.s. to get him to stay in 2023. Then the idiot attempted to trade him to a team that wasn't on the list of agreeable destinations. What a doless putz.
Re: Bloom says Arenado has been a 'total pro' in trade discussions
Your assessment seems to be very believable . Remember when Arenado reported to training camp after that whole fiasco , Mo was saying I hope we continue to be on good terms. I welcome him back . Mo was worried that Nolan would give him the cold shoulder but Nado did not do that .JuanAgosto wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 00:32 am Arenado probably appreciates someone being open and honest. Shows class on his part and not petty for how Mo mishndled the whole deal.

I agree Arenado handled the situation well. Mozeliak seemed to half-(donkey) everything. Especially the last 10 years.ramfandan wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 00:42 amYour assessment seems to be very believable . It's not believable at all. If you actually read the reporting and actually educated yourself you'd know the Astros were one of the five teams on his list but he blocked it b/c he wanted to see what else might develop. If anyone actually "mishandled the whole deal", it was Arenado and his agent. Of course then you have to make up this whole fantasy about Arenado being lied to by the Mo b/c you have an unhealthy hatred for the guy so you want to create some kind of fictional narrative.ramfandan wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 00:42 amYour assessment seems to be very believable . NADO has been nothing but class since he arrived, he wanted to be here and always gave it his all.
I know we're all disappointed w/the latter part of his Cardinals career and lack of playoff success but he never did anything to disgrace the Cardinals brand or the city.
I hope he lands on a winner and gets his shot at that ring.

Why be on here then? Is it just to protect your boyfriend or is it that you have nothing better to do with yourself?

Why did arenado and his agent mishandle the situation? After the astros traded Tucker he was skeptical of the team turns out he was right the astros were right where the cardinals were in the post season sitting at home watching it so he’s probably glad he didn’t take the trade. He liked stGeneral wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 11:01 amIt's not believable at all. Louis and was comfortable if he’s going to take a trade he wanted to go to a winner the astros weren’t that and they are going to get worse

Arenado had every right to exercise his NTC last year, but he certainly screwed the Cardinals over in the process. I don't think playing nice now really makes up for it.

Nado controlled the narrative. He had his only move and he (upset) it awayJuanAgosto wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 00:32 am Arenado probably appreciates someone being open and honest. He has the NTC and had a selective list. It backfired on him and now he's capitulating in hope being in the playoffs where he can suck, again. 1.3 WAR. and an sad 87 OPS + that drops year over year...
That's gonna be hard to move

Re: Bloom says Arenado has been a 'total pro' in trade discussions
Well the cardinals kind of screwed him over by assuring him they would continue to try to win and convinced him to not opt out so why wouldn’t he look out for himself? And he was right about the astros the astros didn’t make the play offs just like the cardinals didn’t so why uproot himself to go to another team that doesn’t make the playoffs and is on the down slidemattmitchl44 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025 12:16 pm Arenado had every right to exercise his NTC last year, but he certainly screwed the Cardinals over in the process. I can acknowledge that he had every right to exercise his NTC, for any reason at all.
But, as a Cardinals fan, I can think he really screwed over the team I root for by doing so and burned a bridge with me (not that he cares).

N/A quickly realized his stupidity in refusing to report to Houston - exactly as I predicted.
Now, he does not want to repeat his blunder.

Re: Bloom says Arenado has been a 'total pro' in trade discussions
What would be sad is if Nolan is finally traded and we make a good long run in the playoffs. I think there is a much better chance of that happening then many here in the forum think. A full year of Herrera, Contreras, Burelson, Weatherholt and a some progression from Gorman, Walker and Scott and we could get much better pretty quick with a couple good adds.
