Mississippi State
This isn’t going to be easy today. They had a nice non con win vs Arizona State (who beat Texas Tech). They’ve had close losses to Tennessee and Texas. They’re 5-5 and probably viewing this as a must win.
For our season to be as meaningful as it can be, this is a must win for us. We’re out of sorts on offense. This would be huge to get it on track today for the stretch run.
Last home game. Pretty huge game tbh.

Yeah I'd love to see the team win out for the program and the future recruiting efforts.
Same for Zollers to come out and make himself known to go after the starters job next season, if he stays.
It's the first of the closing games...it's a big one.

The inner-troll within dhsux makes him question if Zollers will stay at Mizzou.
Re: Mississippi State
QB Blake Shapen will be available but you guys might see much of freshman Kamario Taylor.
Taylor came on in the third quarter last week against Georgia after Shapen took a big hit and performed well, playing turnover-free ball and leading MSU in rushing. He's a big kid and scored three TDs on short yardage plays.
At minimum he'll pose different problems for the defense when he's on the field, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see opposing 18 yo QBs play the whole game.

Had to look Taylor up. I’m a big stats don’t lie guy. At 1st his balance throwing and running really jumps out.jcgmoi wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 08:43 am QB Blake Shapen will be available but you guys might see much of freshman Kamario Taylor.

But looking deeper at his numbers, in limited action, he’s completed 11 of 19 for 174 yards. 3 of those completions account for 144 of his yards. Otherwise he’s 8 for 16 for 30 yards. Without having seen him play I’m guessing he has a good arm but maybe struggles with accuracy?
If he’s erratic throwing and mainly a running threat he might have a long day vs Mizzou. We punish teams who aren’t good in the passing game. Almost doesn’t matter how good their running game is if they’re 1 dimensional.
But if he’s able to get out of the pocket and complete throws he could be a huge problem because our secondary will be prone to break down. Also if our offense struggles like we did last week our D can only hold the fort for so long.
Re: Mississippi State
Whie I wish Zollers the best, based on his limited performance to this point, difficult to see what better portal options he would have. Better to improve his play at Mizzou and perhaps get a bump in his own NIL I would think.winonsports wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 08:41 am The inner-troll within dhsux makes him question if Zollers will stay at Mizzou.

Re: Mississippi State
I agree, big game. Lose this one, limp into Oklahoma for a game we likely lose, then face a team without a win in the SEC. Arky has lost a lot of close games and will be up for us. Could be a terrible end to the season if this happens.
Re: Mississippi State
Please try not to quote the creep if you don't mind.
On your Zollers comment, it's not just what Drink see's, or Zollers see's, it might just be what another team see's.
I see a young guy who could be special.

Re: Mississippi State
Targeting is such a stupid penalty. Ridiculous to be ejected from the game for THAT.
Re: Mississippi State
Back to back personal fouls is killing us. Defense looks dominant but needs to play smarter.

Re: Mississippi State
After the penalty they show the same QB getting blown up from the blind side in the Georgia game last week. If that wasn't what you would call a defenseless player I don't know what is.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025 19:12 pm Targeting is such a stupid penalty. Trying to legislate violence out of a violent game.

Re: Mississippi State
A gift FG for State after back to back 15 yard personal foul penalties. The defense is flying around everywhere but the penalties are just killers.
Re: Mississippi State
Great start in all facets of the game. Running well, throwing well, defensive line pressure, etc…
