Interesting tidbit about the current NHL scoring leaders
The top five point-scorers in the NHL right now are all former No. 1 or No. 2 overall picks — a scouting department fever dream that almost never materializes this cleanly.
Cream of the crop: Nathan MacKinnon (No. 1 in 2013) leads the way with 32 points, followed by Macklin Celebrini (No. 1 in 2024), Connor Bedard (No. 1 in 2023) and Leo Carlsson (No. 2 in 2023) with 26 each. Connor McDavid (No. 1 in 2015) is right behind them with 25.
Bottom line: It's one thing for elite talent to live up to the hype. It's another to see four No. 1 picks and one No. 2 pick deliver on their promise — all at once, at the very top of the league leaderboard.

Man, I sure was wrong on Macklin Celebrini durin his draft year. I thought he’d be good but not great, but he’s far exceeded my dum dum prediction. Id give my left …. toenail to have him on the Blues.
I should’ve waited to post my meaningless thought till after everyone was done filling a Dixie cup with love after the …that’s right… JOHNSON pic.

That will never not be the most bizarre picture in Blues history...

I've always loved the Johnson pic more than the Johnson pick.

It is still early, but it would appear the NHL is finally starting to turn the corner on next generation.
It's one thing to start off strong however, but with the schedule being what it is this year, I think more than a few of them will have a hard time keeping up this pace.

Re: Interesting tidbit about the current NHL scoring leaders
It’s not about pace for me. It’s about leadership. They are driving at 20 years old. It’s impressive. Loved seeing Bedard go nose to chest with Parayko and trash talk him. The Blues don’t have this.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 14:49 pm It is still early, but it would appear the NHL is finally starting to turn the corner on next generation.

That is the most disappointing/disturbing graphic I've seen on this board. And that's saying a lot.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 15:52 pm Lol, this is SO Blues. One of these things is not like the others...

Sometimes its simply more about what year you draft 1st overall then how many times you do.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 15:52 pm Lol, this is SO Blues. One of these things is not like the others...
