it's time...his value will never be higher. Trade Burleson...we have too many LHB in the lineup, and we have too many LHB on their way in the minors.

I'd like a lower minors Top Prospect and a Competitve Balance pick if possible... A is preferable, but we might have to live with B

that might be too much of an ask. He can hit, but that's it. His power trended down this season, and he's a liability in the field.

His SLG went up every year. What the hell are you talking about? Everyone of the classic 4 stats went up...Ave, OBP, SLG, OPS

the haul I suggested is a good one. A young Low A or High A player...maybe RHP, who's Top 10 in an org...we need RHP prospects...we're a bit short there. And then 30th-40th pick in the 2026 draft...that's a good haul. Should yield two really good prospects...if we can develop them properly.

My suggestion might be a reach, I'm not sure. We're not getting MLB ready talent for Burly...nor should we ask for it. We're not competing until 2027 at the earliest

"My suggestion might be a reach, I'm not sure. We're not getting MLB ready talent for Burly...nor should we ask for it." Then keep the fairly young, Silver Slugger Award winner and let him keep progressing into being an All Star. You've been wrong over and over again regarding Burleson. I haven't been.

I could trade the entire Cardinal farm system for him and still have the same players.

Shady wrote: 12 Nov 2025 17:10 pm Even up. If the pitcher was on another team. Just gauging the caliber of pitcher Bloom would need to get for Burly. With the rebuild it would likely need to be a pitcher with some years of team control. Like Liberatore or McGreevy.
The question is moot. Alec Burleson is a generational talent set to transform this franchise. There is simply no trade return that can equal Alec Burleson's value. After we get rid of that Contreras slug Burleson will become a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger 1B with a .350/.450/.550 line. If the Cardinals would let Burleson pitch he could approach Skubal's level. Shohei who? Enjoy your last MVP, sucker.

Silver Slugger Bumbles could get you a top 10 prospect. Is he worth trading? Depends on the return.

I'm willing to trade anyone. Buxton for Bumbles...straight up

I agree...I'm not tethered to any one player...at least not that much. I do feel we have 2 or 3 that you keep...potential to build around. But I think things are too foggy right now. I'd keep JJ and Winn...or at least make Winn the last one you would entertain a trade on...you have to build from something....better yet, around something.

You haven't been? Tony Gwynn comp? Joey Votto comp? Doubles machine? Pure Hitter? Fine in the field? Athletic? Speedster? Righthanded?

there's many more.

and it's your thread....which is about "Trading Burleson"...so don't get bent out of shape. I provided a fairly good return package for him. We're not competing this year nor next....Burleson being with the Cards the next 2 years means nothing...he's too expensive to keep after 2027...maybe during 2027. His value will never be higher...it's not personal, it's just the truth about his value. Sell high.

Correct on 1B. They are looking for offensive improvement for all 3 OF spots. They are open to trading Cameron. He is kind of a left-handed Michael McGreevy, they just have more pitching than offense.

Kendry Chourio...and call it a day.

I want RHP depth, and they don't need to be MLB ready. I guess I'm just looking at this through a much different scope....beyond the Labor Lull that's coming up...beyond 2027.
